Kai was born into a well off but emotionally separated family. He made a deal with his family - he would stay out of their way as long as they supported him from afar, and so it has been since he was 14. He moved into an apartment and uses his monthly allowance to pay for his dance lessons and food, and he works in a cafe, though it's only because he likes it. The money he makes gets tucked away in the backpack he always carries on him. So far there's around ten thousand in the bag, and despite not being sure why he carries it, he does so dutifully every day.
