kim jongin was born and raised in the spotlight his entire life. born into a family who owned one of the nation's largest investment firms, jongin grew up surrounded by wealth and expectations. he was the trophy child, bright, charming, and groomed for pedigree. always surrounded by people, he was always popular and well respected, but was never quite the type to show his true colors, manipulating others but keeping his distance. However, the older he grew, the more resistant he became to his 'perfect' lifestyle, as he'd see the wicked deeds of THOSE at the top and the lack of genuinity in everything he did. in a way, his entire life was just one gold coated facade with nothing of subtance inside. his busy parents were never around much and though he couldn't qualify himself as mistreated, there was no denying that he went unloved and oppressed in spirit. the potent rebellious SPIRIT inside of him boiled in their absence and he developed into somewhat of a troublemaker, but was never stupidly reckless with his life choices. the relationships at home and his life behind the scenes grew increasingly dark but he NEVER let it show to the public.
instead everything he had, jongin POURED into the one thing that he had always loved -- dance. unsurpisingly his parents disapproved of his choice of pursuit, but it didn't take long for it to become quite apparent that the young man was prodigal at what he did. what he could accomplish with his body and the music was undescribable. when he was dancing, kim jongin was a completely different being. it turned him from his usual cynical, detached self INTO the embodiment of passion and grace. it was the only thing that ever felt perfectly right in his life and it was his escape, the part of his bargain to life that made it possible for him to endure everything else. but then that HAPPENED. The crash, the Blinding lights, the crushing blow, the loss of conscience. when he woke up at the hospital, he was surrounded by 'loved' ones, everyone crying tears of relief and joyous that he had survived the accident against the odds. the doctors said he would recover into normal life, although with some physical repurcussions to prolonged physical activity. they were right as he was out of the hopsital in not too long. but they were also right about the physical repurcussions. he wasn't hindered in ordinary life activities, but his INTENSITY and frequency of dancing was no 'ordinary' casual activity. and no amount of threatment, excercise, or therapy could dispel the jolting pains and crippling pangs that kept coming back to haunt him. eventually he simply had to let it go. sure, he could still dance, but never again in the way he wanted to and so it was ALL worthless and he was ashamed. still today, THOSE WHO knew about the accident would mention how LUCKY he was to still be alive and living. but JONGIN KNEW at heart, he'd never live again and he VOWED to never try a return to his FORTE ever AGAIN either. it'd only tear him APART.
RECENTLY ouT OF COLLEGE, jongin works for HIS family's INVESTMENT firm, a "choice"without ALTERNATIVES. He's good AT his job and good WITH people, an expert at manipulation and a true DEBONAIR, but DETACHED and rarely genuine. in his social life, HE is SUAVE, charming, collected but very INDEPENDENT and slow to trust others, if at all. For the very few he does truly CARE about, he is actually quite protective. he does not like to discuss his private life or PAST AND rarely exposes himself in any regards. He ALMOST always maintains his FORMER PERFECT exterior form, though internally HE has turned rather quite volatile and deeply TROUBLED. When aggravated, he can turn quite vicious. LOST as to what he should live for now, JONGIN simply lives to live, seeking pleasure as it comes and KEEPING his struggles from destroying him any further.

Hi everyone. i'll go ahead and say it upfront that i am a very busy person irl, so relpies may not always come at fast rates. rarely will i actually forget a reply, so if you do not get one in a while, it means i'm busy and i will try to get back to you asap. i live in the est timezone and will primarily be online during weekends and nighttime. i'm completely cool with chatting ooc, so feel free to hit me up.
as for roleplaying style, i am primarily a heavy 3pov roleplayer preferring multipara/novella, but i will mirror. i will almost always prefer we have a plot before we start. i can do essentially any genre. , drama, angst, you name it, as long as it's interesting and will last. typically if you ask to rp first, i will expect you to start, unless of course it would make more sense in our plot for me to do so instead. thanks for reading.
