Ever since Jinwoo was young, he was exposed to the entertainment world by his parents. He was forced at the age of five to learn the piano, his parents being a fan of the classics, he was also forced to take ballet, which was something that often made him become bullied by all the other children in his neighborhood. When he was around seven years old, he took singing classes.

Around the age of eight, he was known throughout China as the child prodigy, the next Beethoven, Mozart, everything like that. One day, when he was on the way to one of his concerts, the driver accidently began to play an American song, something that Jinwoo never experienced. He fell in love with the music, the driver happened to be apart of his family, his uncle. 

Jinwoo approached his uncle, begging to learn the song, and experience more music like that. His uncle secretly enrolled him into dance classes and singing classes. For six years it went on, then his uncle passed away from old age. When Jinwoo went to go approach his parents about his dreams in becoming an idol singer, they were furious, rejecting him and demanding that he quit that silly idea. 

So Jinwoo did, from the age of fourteen to the age of eighteen, Jinwoo focused solely on his classical music career, although he still did secretly attend the dance and singing classes. Once he was eighteen he moved out of his family's home and signed under Yuehua Entertainment. Becoming a solo artist, he was very popular and successful, writing a hit song after another. Adding a bit of classical music into his songs, something that went well. Although, two years after his debut, his company pushed him to becoming an actor. It wasn't something that he wanted or liked. Although he was successful in his acting career, when his contract ended a year later, he did not sign again with the company. 

Instead he moved on to a new company, being recruited by Royal Entertainment personally by CEO Godfrey Gao. He remained training at Royal Entertainment's Chinese Branch, were he studied his Korean until he was called over by the CEO to the main Korean branch.
