-His parents are dead due to a car crash, and he was sent to live with his mechanic uncle when he was 9

-He refused to learn to drive because of this, 

-His Uncle was his influence to becoming the mechanic he is today, even if he doesn't approve particularly of the whole racing thing

-He prefers to work alone so he wakes up early so he can have a few hours of work to himself before everyone gets to the garage.
