+ I do both detailed 1st and 3rd; I'm more familiar with 3rd POV but 1st is that much easier so I'm always up for either c:

+ Time zone: GMT +8. I'm usually online during evenings and nights, except on weekends and holidays where I keep really, really weird hours. My time zone's not a very good predictor of when I'll be online on those days.

+ My 1st POV replies will be faster and I also tend to reply out of order, but don't worry; I won't ignore you on purpose! If you think I've missed you though (like if my tracker claims I've replied when I haven't since the last update), just poke me xD

+ For roleplays, if you ask, I would really appreciate it if you start. It's not an iron-set rule, though; if from the plot it seems better if I start, I'm happy to.

+ No romance plots, please. If it happens, it happens. (Crushes are fine as long as you can accept the possibility that they may go nowhere.) That said, I'm perfectly willing to without commitments as far as my character allows.

+ For 3rd POV RPs, while I'll try to mirror you I ramble a lot and my para and multi-para replies occasionally turn into novella, but I don't expect those to be mirrored under any circumstance (though feel free to do so if you'd like, of course, but no pressure).

+ I love plotting and I'm always up for an RP, so don't be afraid to ask <3

Background
The short version: Sungyeol went from a bratty teenager trying to get his parents' attention (and piss them off at the same time) by spectating and betting on illegal races to a racer in his own right when one of the street gangs took a shine to him and let him join up. He acquired his first car at seventeen (before he got his actual driver's license, plus 'acquired' really means 'stole' even if he calls it 'borrowed') and took part in his first race shortly after; that was the race that caught the gang leader's eye, and before long Sungyeol found himself a new home and family in the gang. He started out with a good enough eye for betting to earn him plenty of cash, and once he had a car fit for the racetrack he was a good enough racer to bet on himself and walk away with the winnings. The very first gang he joined has since been dissolved; he's drifted since then, never quite finding anywhere to settle down permanently. Whether or not his newest manages to stick remains to be seen.

The hideously long version:

Sungyeol’s childhood was perfectly normal and pleasant, but everything took a turn for the worse when his mother caught his father cheating and they announced they were getting divorced. When the dispute between his parents ended in his teenage self being stranded by the wayside while a custody battle went on above his head, he went desperately searching for distraction—and he found it on the streets. He started out as a spectator to the racing scene, a fourteen-year-old boy with bright eyes and not nearly enough pocket money to place the minimum bet. But he was entranced within the month, and when he kept coming back, he started feeling that watching wasn’t nearly enough.

The real trouble might have started when he began sneaking money out of his parents’ wallets to place bets, or when after a few weeks of betting he started garnering attention for his unexpectedly good judgment—he may have been fourteen, but he had an unerring instinct for the best racers. Or maybe it started on the day when one of the racers took a shine to him and he got a free ride in his car, and he felt the very first rush of driving at a speed that was too high and too dangerous and he couldn’t, couldn’t get enough of it.

But either way, it didn’t take long for him to lose himself.

He couldn’t really bring himself to care when his parents found out and the custody battle suddenly turned into them trying to escape shouldering the responsibility of dealing with their problem child (and blaming each other for his downwards spiral). And when they came to an agreement of sorts to pack him off to boarding school, it worked perfectly in his favour. He traded class for time hanging out at all the nearby garages and workshops, learning cars inside out until he felt he could practically build his own from scratch—and sneaking out every night he could to familiarise himself with a new town and the new racetracks, scouting out all the best racers and gangs.

The biggest turning point in his life came when he was seventeen and found a car left unattended in one of the garages one night. He’d spent so much time (too much time) around cars that it seemed easy, even natural to hotwire it, drive it off to one of the usual tracks and enter the race.

Sure, he hadn’t been able to collect his winnings because they found out he didn’t even have a license and the car was stolen, but it was worth it. And he hadn’t had to deal with the fallout from the owner either, because one of the gangs had taken an interest in him. Before long, Sungyeol found that he’d acquired a new home and family in the gang, and suddenly it seemed all too easy to leave his old life behind and enter his new one. He dropped out of school the very next day despite his parents’ pleads, and the second he was a legal adult, they received a (not very) polite email to remind them that he wasn’t their responsibility anymore. After that, he cut off all contact with them.

Sungyeol’s gang dissolved when he was twenty, and from that point on he drifted from gang to gang, never quite finding somewhere to settle down in. Whether or not his current one would truly be his last… that still remained to be seen.

Personality
Sungyeol's not very respectful, as a rule. He's loud, careless and maybe a little selfish at times, and there's nothing he hates more than having to bend to authority. Age roles, seniority, all that —he doesn't believe in any of that. Sometimes it seems like he's never serious about anything except racing (because the adrenaline rush is the one thing he'll never be able to give up) but truthfully, he just tends to be insecure about himself and his ability and that's why he always makes everything out to be a joke. He doesn't really know how to show others how he feels either, so he tends to display affection for his friends by being an insufferable little brat. He's basically an adult who's still stuck in the mentality of a rebellious teenager and who's insecure about that. He's fun to be around, but a little mercurial and hard to keep up with.

Also, he'll never admit it, but he hasn't seen his parents since he struck out to make a living as a racer and he really misses them (even though he also doesn't want to see them, ever).

Plots
#1 - The Past Never Dies // Any // Closed (Meto) - Sungyeol's life before he became a racer isn't really something that comes up much anymore. As far as he's concerned, once he'd turned his back on his parents he'd shut the door on that part of his life. Except, of course, he can't really leave everything behind because someone from his old life has reemerged in his new one and he has no ing idea how to deal with it.

#2 - Bi the Way // Any // Open - Sungyeol likes women. Actually, Sungyeol loves women. He loves everything about women and he makes that very, very clear. To a friend who's spent what seems like forever listening to Sungyeol go on and on about all the ladies ever, it's probably shocking to find him with another man... and also a little confusing, because where is the boundary between friendship and attraction going to be set now?

#3 - Friendly Rivalry // Racer (any gang) // Closed (Yixing) - There are some opponents that Sungyeol hates, but this man isn't one of them. He even respects him to some extent; this is a man who can go neck-to-neck with him in races, someone who can send adrenaline rushing through him when they're on the racetrack together. They're not quite friends, but they're definitely not enemies. And he may not admit it out loud, but Sungyeol cherishes their bond.

more plots tba once I can think of them (and if the titles sound familiar, they're mostly from tvtropes. /unoriginal)
