Background: He acts very shy and quiet when he is out in the public but is the exact opposite around his close friends. At the young age of three, his mother had passed away from an unkwon illness and lived with just his father in Seoul until a year later when they had moved to Fujian, China and his father was remarried to a vocal and dance coach and he had gotten a job transfer to a different and much larger hospital. He is fluent in English, Mandarian, Cantonese and Korean though he doesn't talk much in all of them. Before joining Royal Entertainment, Ren was a trainee at a different company, that he didn't really like, called Mint Entertainment at the age of fourteen but left a year later since he figured out that he wouldn't be able to début there since other people that have been training there for a shorter time debuted before him and had auditioned for a different company just two weeks later. He decided to become a trainee again after he left the other company to join Pledis Entertainment, easily becoming a part of a five member boy group called 1LIFE just about three and a half months later as a main vocalist, lead dancer and the maknae before the group disbanded two years later due to their loss of popularity in Aisa and other parts of the world and went on to do their own solo projects and he had, once again, became a trainee at Royal. Before moving back to Korea and live on his own, his step mother bought him an iguana, named Li and a breaded dragon, named Mu.
