Junghyuk used to think he was normal.
He grew up in sunny California, going by his English name Eric. Living in a 2-story house, his only other family were his 3 older siblings (all of which where girls) and single mother. It was on such a typical Californian day that he discovered he had powers.
He'd like to forget what happened, but everyone in his hometown knows that after that day he only had 2 sisters.
After the incident, at only 6-years-old he became a quiet and introverted child. He barely spoke or acknowledged others, which was a very drastic change from the old Eric who used to be loud and unable to remain in one spot for more than 5 minutes.
It was only when he reached high school that he actually tried to figure out what exactly he could do.
He stood on the roof of his new high school (his family moved back to Korea when he was 13). Before his eyes wasn't just empty air. He could see...well, he didn't know what exactly he was seeing at the time, but he knew he could do something with it like he had before. Without knowing how or why, he had shifted one atom in the air surrounding the building.
Then everyone inside the school died by breathing in poison.
Eric was terrified. Not only with this crazy organization named S.H.I.E.L.D. on his heels, but of himself. He was horrified with the fact that he had killed all those innocent students and teachers.
So he went on the run, not even saying goodbye to his family no matter how much he loved them.
Through the years, he's been caught by S.H.I.E.L.D. many times, but each time he was able to escape. Every time it got easier, not only because they were predictable, but because he kept improving his newfound ability. He didn't make himself stronger out of want though, but out of necessity.
He's afraid of accidentally killing again.
He's poured over thousands of chemistry, biology and science books. If he had gone to university, Eric could be one of the smartest scientists in the world right now.
Instead he lives in a small apartment in the darkest, dirtiest, most violent part of town.
He still doesn't interact with other people, not because he hates, but because he's afraid of hurting them (even with his power mostly under control now).
Even now, he's still running away. From S.H.I.E.L.D., from himself, from everyone else.
He won't stop running until the day he dies.

Those injuries, the story that came with them, who you were...that was all fake. When they come to take him away, you swear you've never seen someone look at you with so much hatred.
