✦ BACKGROUND
kyungsoo blames the heart.
when he was a baby, merely a few days old, he'd nearly died from a heart disease. there'd been a transplant. he was a miracle. this is precisely why everyone around him always cherished him so much, his mother especially. this is the reason why everyone protected him. it didn't help that he was so small, too. and weak. he was always the smallest and weakest one in his class, which only made everyone else so careful around him. everyone treated him like he was a sick kid, like at any moment his heart could fail, like at any moment he could die.
and really, he was grateful that everyone was so concerned about him. they went through extraordinary measures just to keep him happy. they made sure he never had to stress himself out, never got upset. and he was glad for that. really, he was.
but he hated it, too. he hated feeling weak, like he needed to be protected. which he didn't. he was completely capable of taking care of himself, and he didn't need everyone keeping tabs on him twenty-four/seven. it irked him. it sickened him. he didn't want to be the sick, weak one. he wanted to grow out of that, but no one ever let him.
except that one kid -- whose name kyungsoo still can't bring himself to say, or even think. that one kid who was a student from across the city, but moved in to his town. it was his freshman year. the new kid had been a stranger, and kyungsoo had been the first to approach him. and good thing he did, too, because he'd finally found someone who made him feel strong. not that the other kid was weak -- in fact, he was quite strong, and much bigger than kyungsoo. he was just someone who didn't ever stop kyungsoo, he was someone who pushed him into the dangers of exhiliration. ever since they'd met, kyungsoo finally grew.
he became the kid with the biggest personality, and the strongest will.
kyungsoo couldn't imagine living without his friend, which, of course, is why he died just after their senior year. it was a car accident. kyungsoo'd been there, to witness everything. the pedestrian, the car, his friend, dying on the ground, the drunk driver. kyungsoo had never felt so weak in his life.
it was a week after that, his first "trance." after the funeral. kyungsoo had never tried drinking before, but he needed to not remember. so he drank, all suit and tie. he drank well into the night, and he even decided he could go until the next morning. it was the bartended who'd tried to stop him. and, to this day, kyungsoo doesn't know what really triggered it -- it was either because that bartender really annoyed him with the shoving, or everything else just came pouring out. either way, for the first time in his life, kyungsoo was angry. really angry. angry at his entire family, at everyone around him. angry at them for making him weak, even when he could've been strong. he was angry because the one person who did believe he was strong -- the one who made him strong -- was gone, forever.
he was angry for awhile. and when he wasn't angry anymore, he found himself standing there. the sun was rising. kyungsoo stared at the bartender (or what was left of him) buried under a pile of concrete, which used to be a wall. kyungsoo stared at what used to be a building, but was now just a big pile of rubble. and it was all because of him.
so he ran, terrified. it wasn't like he didn't know it was possible for people to be... not completely people. he just never thought he was one of them. he knew for a fact that his entire family was completely mutant DNA-free. so he had no idea why he'd turned into this monster. and then, after around three months in hiding, he realized.
it was from his heart. his heart that isn't really his to begin with.

+ UNLIMITED STRENGTH - Kyungsoo, when he is angered, agitated or threatened in any way, falls into a sort of trance where he has unlimited strength. He does not know this yet, but he can lift up to 150 billion tons if he is angry enough.
+ ACCELERATED HEALING - Kyungsoo can heal from the deadliest wounds, be it losing an entire limb, or getting his stomach cut open and have all his guts nearly falling out, in a matter of minutes. He is immune from all Earth-based diseases and can operate under intense conditions for extended periods of time due to his body not developing fatigue toxins quickly.
+ HIGH RESISTANCE - The high tensile strength of his skin allows him protection from most mordern artillery such as bullets, grenades, shells, and rockets. He can withstand concussive blasts, and extreme high and low temperatures.
✦ WEAKNESSES
- LACK OF CONTROL - Kyungsoo, for now, can barely control himself when he is in his angered state. He's still working on this -- attempting to calm his thoughts and keep himself from breaking anything or hurting anyone. He is also trying to control the transitions from calm to angry and angry to calm, trying to find ways to keep himself from transforming, and ways to transform without having to be angry.
- VULNERABILITY TO MIND CONTROL - Kyungsoo barely has control over his mind, which is why he is struggling with his other side. He is also very caught up in keeping himself from transforming, which makes him constantly half-distracted.
