Name of character: David Schmitt

Age: 27

Job: Makes propaganda films for the government, directs and animates them.

Background: The only reason David was put on this Earth was to make money for his family. No really, that's what they told him. Life was hard in a society as corrupt as the one that used to be before the revolution, and he was their golden ticket out of poverty. From an early age, David was forced into showbiz, performing music and acting in films as means of making money for his parents. He was only a paycheck for them. They did drugs and abused him.

 

The company he was signed to did as well, in order to brainwash him to make him a corperate puppet to bring in revenueh. Every song he sang, every movie he was in, all of it was the same: mindless, meaningless things that were meant to fascinate and distract. It was all to ensure that the actors believed that this was their way out of poverty, and the population was blinded by the mindless feel good songs and movies to recognize the corruption of their capitalistic government.

 

Strange thing was, unlike all of the other actors/singers/etc signed to the same company, the brainwashing programming never worked on David. He always knew he was capitalism, he knew how corrupt the government was. He just never told anyone. He pretended to be a puppet, just like he was supposed to. At age 16, when it was discovered his parents abused him, he got taken away, and his talent agent adopted him. He was better cared for, he wasn't hit and he had nice things...but only in return for one thing. He had to give his adoptive father ual favors. His talent agent had a for being a "father" to the same person he screwed. Now, David has the same because of it. He wants to play father to his lover, too. Except, unlike his talent agent, David won't force himself on anyone. He wants a lover who loves him willingly.

 

After the revolution a year ago and the changes, David was appointed by the state to create propaganda films, not a far cry from where he started in this business-- now he worked for another government that was not corrupt by capitalism, but was totalitarian. He does what he's told to survive, but he still knows it's wrong. He's secretly part of "The Anonymous", telling them everything he sees and hears at his job. He's destroying the system by working within the system.
