Name: Cooper Dale
Nickname(s): Coop
Age: 18 years old
Date of Birth: September 6th 1997
Occupation: Photographer (high school diploma)
Class: Middle class
Status, uality: Single, biual
Family: A father (53, postman), a mother (51, teacher), a pair of younger twin siblings (male and female, 11, elementary school students)
Soulmate: Hasn’t been found yet.
Cooper has lived a good life. He grew up in the middle class quarters of the town with his family, minding his own business in most everything. When he was in 1st grade his younger brother and sister were born, and he instantly loved them. Their middle class home, however, was already on the small side, so Cooper shared a room with his younger siblings to not cram his parents, who occupied the only other room in the house. But this proved to be a very not-versatile solution as both he and his siblings continued to grow, and when the twins started school Cooper slept in the living room on a makeshift bed pulled out of a closet. This didn’t bother Cooper particularly, as he spent most of his time out of the house, busy with school and friends.
When Cooper was 12 he got a camera from his paternal grandfather for Christmas, and almost on the spot fell in love with taking photos. The first year the pictures were horrible, the focus and light was completely off, but his parents encouraged him to keep shooting if it was what made him happy. Or perhaps they felt bad over the makeshift bed. Nevertheless Cooper invested much of his spare time in taking photos, reading about famous photographers in the library, searching all over the internet for knowledge about the different parts of a camera and the prizes of proper lenses.
At this point in life, Cooper was 99% sure he wanted to be a photographer and take pictures for a living, and so he did. He finished high school with average grades, and originally set out for a photo school in Vienna. However, his parents’ funds were still very much limited and he himself hadn’t been too good at saving some of his money, and when he mentioned his plans to his parents he discovered that none of them had the money to let him go to Europe.
Just after he graduated high school he was approached by his art teacher who, luckily for Cooper, one would think, knew a photographer who owned a studio in the upper parts of the city. Maybe she could offer him a job, his teacher said, and so Cooper packed some pictures and his camera and went to a part of the city he had never even thought of until that moment.
The photographer wasn’t too keen on Cooper, describing as a scruffy-looking low-lifer, but her insults only made him come back time after time with newer and better photos, and in the end she caved in and rented him a studio. He barely had enough money to pay for the deposit for the studio, and the rent seemed sky-high for someone like him. The photographer, however, made him a deal: She would keep him economically stable if he in return payed her 40 percent of his earnings for each photo session he did. Not seeing any other options, Cooper said yes.
The studio wasn’t big like the photographer’s was, and it looked like it could use some serious help, but there was warm in the winter and electricity all year round, and Cooper figured that if he got his dad convinced, the two of them could easily fix the bathroom. It took a lot of time, more time than Cooper would have liked, but in the end, he stood with a functional but small studio/home, not too far from his parents and siblings. To celebrate, Cooper set up a photo session for them, free of charge.
And this is where he is now: His own employer, earning just enough to get by, paying off his rent one photo at a time, stopping by his parents’ house once a week for a meal and some laundry, and he couldn’t be more satisfied. Vienna is still a very, very optimistic dream, but he dearly hopes that one day he’ll have the money to go there and fulfill his wishes.

Cooper is very laid back, staying in his own lane and makes sure not to meddle with anybody’s business that doesn’t involve him directly. He has learned that good things come to those who wait, but isn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty to make progress. He can be awfully stubborn and persuasive at times, a quality he has from both of his parents, and uses it to get to what he wants as smooth as possible. Other than that, he’s a very friendly and open guy, ready to lend a hand to anybody who needs it.
