PYO HYEMI / 19 / university student (majoring in arts)

If having to describe the person Pyo Hyemi, most people would call her “a riddle wrapped up in an enigma”. Ever since she was little, there had been something different, something strange about her that made other kids keep their distance. The fact that she rarely ever talked to anyone didn’t help much either and soon rumours started to spread. Stories like she was actually a robot built by her parents or that she was some kind of clone became more and more popular, following her wherever she went.

What the other kids didn’t know was that Hyemi was born with a pulmonary hypertension, a vascular disease that restricts the functions of the pulmonary circulation, which made any physical exertion almost impossible. Growing up with the knowledge that she would never be able to run around freely like other kids, the young girl slowly began to retreat from the world, locking herself up in her room, escaping into the world of books and computer games that allowed her to forget about her restrictions for a moment.

At the age of 15, Hyemi had temporarily moved to the U.S., spending almost two months there in order to get a lung transplantation. Although the surgery was a success, there are still some restrictions such as heavy exercises and extreme sports. Despite that, Hyemi still tries to live her life to the fullest, including going to university and meeting new people.

But despite her determination to befriend more people, the tall girl is often seen sitting alone in a corner, her mind somewhere far away. It’s not like she doesn’t want to make friends, but after spending her entire life being caged in the huge mansion on top of a hill, the female simply doesn’t know how to approach other people. Living people, that is.

Her personality ingame is much more livelier, happier one could even say. Although not overly talkactive, Hyemi at least doesn't shy away from participating in conversations, trying her best to be of use for her teammates, which more than often has the opposite effect as the young college student often talks in riddles, never giving out a straight answer. Despite her weird way of talking, it can be quite fun to talk to her if one likes to be teased and pushed around by someone whose thinking patterns come awfully close to those of a child, at least in terms of randomness.

All in all, Hyemi isn't neccessarily a bad person, just that she is not really a nice person either. She's complicated, hard to see through, sometimes even seems to be two different people, but if one takes enough time to try to understand the child trapped in a grown up body it will definitely be worth it.
