psychologically, lunacy
Glory. Before it came suffer, sadness, eternal pain. Setting of District Two. Park Eun Ji. September 27. 19 years old. Never noticed her? Of course you wouldn't. She was always stuck inside that boarded-up house with her father, longing to go outside. Their family wasn't that all cheerful, as everybody expected in District 2, being the second favored district by the Capitol. Mr. Park was a Capitol man, strong supporter of The Hunger Games and loved to see the deaths of innocent young children broadcasted live on TV. Eunji never knew who they were because she was forbidden to watch. Her father wouldn't even care if she died in the Games. Because of this, Eunji tries to show that she is strong enough, brave enough, smart enough to participate in the Games. Of course, the plead was turned down. Every day, she will be ignored by everyone, believing that Eunji is a worthless child and anything she does is just useless. Mr. Park has never said anything about her mother, saying she was just born out of bad luck. She still cried because of that.
Something to describe her is to say she is mistaken. Mistaken for everything. People thought Eunji was a ferocious kid, psychotic even. They kept their children away from her, ordering them to do whatever they normally do, like build weapons or stuff. She was different. Even the mayor frowned down her figure, demanding her to leave. Eunji is just a scared, very scared girl left with scratch marks unattended.
Eunji? She had to do a hell a lot more than that. Mr. Park didn't even bother to make his own weapons — Eunji was the one who did them all, ranging from spears, scythes, bows and arrows, hammers. This was an advantage to her as this shows her physical aspects are very much always left to be trained everyday. You could almost watch her muscles flexing and un-flexing as she presents those weapons to her father for inspection. Poor lighting makes her eyesight stronger, used with the conditions she works in. If you left her in a dark room, she can find the exit in one second. Eunji doesn't care about insects or spiders. She doesn't have arachnophobia. The setting of her workplace is very dark and creepy crawlies tend to hang out there, mostly spiders and their cobwebs.
Despite the fact she's physically strong, she's not when it comes to emotions. Because of her father's games on her heart and mind, Eunji is constantly feeling that everybody hates her and that's unfortunately true. She's easy to manipulate if you're stern enough, shown from her loyalty to her father even though he dislikes her. Eunji is all brawns and no brain, not that she agrees. She was given a poor education since Mr/ Park's refusal to send her to a school, which is both good and bad. Good, is that she won't have to have people bully her. Bad, is that she'll have to stay in this hellhole her whole life. The only time she's allowed outdoors is during the reaping, and whats worse is that she's prohibited from volunteering. Unless, a miracle happens and the name that is withdrawn from the ball is Park Eun Ji.
A scythe works best on her hands as any pain or unbearable weight is numb on her body. Another reason is that is productive, and can be made into such objects that can be useful for survival. Self-defence and health are one of the many things that can be obtained from using the scythe. Therefore, Eunji's weapon choice is a scythe.
