Ren was born into a lower class family as Choi Minki but put up for adoption shortly after he was born. He had spent 3 years in the orphanage before being adopted into a rich family as the only boy among a bunch of females. Ren doesn't normally show off his emotions to anyone and likes to be alone. Most people thinks he is cold towards people but that isn't the case. He is just a bit shy around people and can't show off his emotions that well. He had moved to China with his adopted familed when he was 8 years old due to their business being relocated and hated the idea of leaving his beloved home in Seoul. He became much quieter then he normally was and didn't talk to any of the students, even if they started to talk to him. Ren spent most of his time indoors, singing and dancing, and never liked showing people his talent.
