Silence engulfed my ears as the loud bang of the gunshot deafened me temporarily from any other sound still present. My wide eyes teared up at the sight of nothing but red sinning. Nothing held me back from running down the alley, far away from any evidence or witness but still leaving a trail of taint behind. It didn't take long for the sound of my own breathing and the beating of my heart to come back to me, but being deaf was more my liking. If I had been deaf, I wouldn't have stopped running, I wouldn't have looking behind me and I wouldn't have put my hands up at the sound of second gunshot this evening. The metal device fell out of my hands as the fear I thought I would no longer feel, finally entered my body again. The adrenaline ran through my veins faster than ever before, which could only pull a laugh out of my lungs at the next words I heard.
"You've been caught."
