Humans began wars with the vamps and lost bunches of times. Years later, the humans never heard or thought of vampires and think they don't exist. In the vampire world, Duke and his rebals ambushed the king and his servants. In the human world, Yuki and Yugi motou are living an average high school life. Ushio and his gang have been bullying Yuki since Yugi was too fast for them. Yuki sometimes is able to fight back, but that gets Ushio angry and hurts Yuki even more. She hides her wounds from all of her friends and brother.
