In the near future, scientists developed a new drug called Nalina. This drug was supposedly made to heal all possible ailments and strengthen the user’s immune system. However, it managed to alter human DNA, allowing them to possess extraordinary abilities, better known in society as “superpowers.” This was, of course, kept a secret to the public and the corporation continued it’s testing. At first, Nalina was released only to a few hundred human testers to see if the product was harmless – which it was. Although, the corporation refused to publically distribute the drug, assuming it might cause havoc if it was in the wrong hands. Months passed and somehow, Nalina had been illegally sold underground. Eventually, more than half of the population had managed to obtain the monumental drug. Superpowers changed society, obviously. More accidents occurred, more robberies, people playing heroes and villains, some people getting very powerful and others not. As predicted, society fell in chaos. The government tried to quarantine the spread of Nalina by hunting down dealers, but it didn’t matter. Because Nalina altered human DNA, the genes were passed to children without the drug. So, superpowers were in society to stay – much to normal humans’ dismay.
