World Lore: The Shattered Dynasty
1089 was the year of the unified Xing Dynasty's downfall. Its aged emperor, now frail and unable to hold everything together, watched as discontent brewed among the noble clans. Four powerful clans, taking advantage of their feeble emperor's lax grip, began a bloody coup. The war between these four clans continued until almost a year later, in 1090, when it finally ended with the dethronement of that ancient emperor.

Four powerful clans, taking advantage of their feeble emperor's lax grip, began a bloody coup. The war between these four clans continued until almost a year later, in 1090, when it finally ended with the dethronement of that ancient emperor.
Thus, when the old regime had been demolished, the throne remained vacant as people wrangled over what their future governance was to be. A joint rule was resolved upon by the four big clans that were struggling for dominance, together they would rule over the land, sharing power and territory. This arrangement, however, was fertile with tension, as brimming rivalries and ambitions simmered over just below the surface of this new alignment.
A Decade of Tension and Celebration
By 1100, it had been a decade since the coup that overthrew the Xing emperor. Full of internal tensions and power struggles, the Four Greater Lands stood in precarious balance with one another. To celebrate the 10th year of the coup and the tenuous peace that had held, the four lands gathered for a grand festival. Such a celebration of peace became fleeting relief, always remembering what has passed and the constant possibility of conflict.

What used to be a united Xing Dynasty was then called Mò Yǔ, or Dark Rain, named after the said legend where dark rain, black as ink, falls onto the land once a year. It is said that these are the tears of the four mystical beasts which once protected the Xing Dynasty but are now splitting their hearts to protect the Four Greater Lands.

activity rules

upon being accepted, a profile picture should be uploaded within 72 hours. a functional profile* should be completed within 14 days.

inactivity is set at 21 days. if you receive an inactivity notice, you have 72 hours to address it. failure to do so will result in your removal from the roleplay. if removed, you must wait 72 hours before requesting to be accepted again. please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of your faceclaim within this period.

to request a hiatus, tag the admin in the help desk room, following the format and instructions provided in that room.

activity checks are conducted at the end of every month, requiring all muns to post a list of threads with at least 2 different muns. each additional character requires one more mun:

reservations last for 48 hours. 24-hour extensions are given upon request. first character: the first character requires a favorite and an upvote.

the second character: requires an ad blog and 2 activity points (can be gained through participating in threads, posting skeletons, open plots, or monologues) earned by your 1st character.

third character: requires another ad blog and 20 activity points for both alts. more characters will be allowed in the future ( kindly wait for further announcements ).

since the setting of this roleplay is a fictional historical fantasy themed on ancient china, chinese, korean, and international faceclaims are allowed. however, faceclaims should not be younger than 21, problematic, deceased, or explicitly stated as not wanting to be roleplayed. the password is to summarise 1 activity rule and 1 character rule.
