TIME'S UP
❝ before the memories go and fade away, i need a time machine...
there are two kinds of people in this world. the first are the stationary -- those who do not move, who stay stuck in their own time and band with each other to live out their short short lives as they can. they used to be the majority, and living a ninety year live all continuously was the norm.
but the second kind are the travelers. back in the 20th and previous centuries they had been but a myth -- time travel was unheard of, a children's fantasy and an elder's wish. but they existed, however hidden. they would live for decades, centuries some, and they could go as far back in time as they wanted to. their present would never change the future, as the timeline they visited would split off into a doomed timeline and they would go back to the time they'd come only to find it exactly the same as before.
nobody really knows why they can't travel into the future at all -- if they were created in december of 1998, they could not visit anything beyond the linear days that passed as long as they'd been alive. if born on july seventh of 2014, twenty four hours after their birth they could travel to the same time of day july eighth, had they not lived right through the day -- but that's it. all have come to accept that the only thing they may do is relive memories, but those who try and change their history to something more favourable, try to live in a doomed timeline -- they always end up going insane.
if only i could go ride a time machine and go to meet you.
