@Ӂ Wang Yiren Melanie felt the cold hands of the siren release her and she managed to lift her head above the water, life returning to her frail body. She gasped for air, coughing up water as she began to struggle to make her way back to shore. Her split dyed hair clung to her face and shoulders, dripping with seaweed and saltwater, a small reminder of the ordeal she just went through. The siren's hand around flashed in her mind and sent shivers down her spine.

With determination, Melanie pushed through the waves, her legs wobbling and feeling like jelly beneath her. Each step felt like torture, her lungs screaming for oxygen. Finally, she collapsed onto the sandy beach, coughing violently and expelling seawater from her lungs.

Her gaze flickered toward the rock the siren had lured her from, her body trembling with fear. She vowed not to step foot near this beach again. It was too dangerous. This whole island was dangerous, especially for someone like her. She pulled herself up on her knees and pushed her dripping wet hair out of her eyes and that's when she finally noticed her, a lone figure on the sandy shore. She looked so beautiful, almost like a guardian angel. Melanie called out to the figure, "h-hello....?" She swallowed hard before speaking again. "Do you know why that creature suddenly left me alone?"

However, her evening walks when the ocean swallowed the sun were one of the rare occurrences that brought her the most peace in this wretched damnation. The lull of beach waves wasn't something familiar to her in heaven. It was almost bittersweet knowing she could hear the sound on any day she wanted. Yet, there was an odd harmony that day. It was soft, barely discernible, but for Yiren who grew accustomed to the beach's usual tranquility, its overlapping tune was jarring.

The woman knew right away what the sound was though– a siren's song. The allure was glaringly obvious, even at that great of a distance. Thankfully, she wasn't close enough for its enchantment to cast a spell on her, and before deciding to walk any closer, Yiren stuffed her ears with pieces of her divine force. Despite how beautiful the song was, she wasn't planning on attending a concert that day. So the siren was simply starting to get on her nerves. "I can't even enjoy a nice, quiet walk without one of these lowly creatures ruining it," she seethed, stomping closer and closer to the source of annoyance. "Just what are you so eager to attract? Shut the up already."

Before she could lay eyes on the said creature, Yiren spotted a female figure calmly making her way into the waters. Her two-toned hair was hard not to notice against the muted colors of dusk falling over the beach. 'Eh, just a weakling that didn't think to protect themselves. Now... where is that little–' The angel merely shrugged off the human's presence, turning her attention to more important matters.

At this distance, the song was thumping loudly against her ear protection, to the point where Yiren couldn't stand it anymore. As soon as she spotted the culprit perched on some nearby rocks, she gathered a mass of divine force energy in her palm and directed it at full power at the unassuming siren. Halfway there, the energy turned a shade of gray, then ultimately pitch black as it hit the other square in the stomach. At the sudden attack, the creature flopped onto another rock, squirming like a fish out of water. It didn't take long before it swiftly slithered back into the depths of the ocean. And with it, an eerie silence overtook the beach, but it was rather comforting to Yiren who could once again hear the waves crashing against the sand.
