Security Housing Unit, better known as solitary or SHU, is an isolation ward that is located separately from the main cell blocks. Inmates who caused trouble or are found with the posession of contraband items will be sent here. Inmates will be separated and left alone in a locked room with no windows, and the lights are switched on all the time.
