@Tom Ellis '4:00am.' The red numbers on a clock were bright. '5:18am.' A small sigh was was breathed from a figure that laid flat on it's back in the bed that was adjacent to the bright clock. The figured looked at the clock again hoping for the time to be different, '5:25am.' A harsher sigh than before sounded and the figure shot up from its previous position before sliding out from under the sheets. "Alright, Elenie. Just go.." Elenie Sagun, 28, Leo, Social Worker, Tired. To put it simply, she just wasn't in it to win it. And she most certainly had her reasons to not be. This wasn't her first time being 28. Possibly the 5th or 6th time? It doesn't really matter because the point is that she doesn't get the privilege that normal people get. Elenie doesn't get to find a job she likes, and work towards longtime success. No growing old with that success, having someone beside her to be a cheerleader. No family to pass on a legacy. She doesn't get any of that. At first thought, it may be anyone's wish to never age and die. However, after a few eras, the novelty will definitely wear off.
The young woman began her daily routine of running a shower, lighting a cigarette full of something that wasn't tobacco and inhaling steam 'n' smoke alike. Finishing off the cigarette, she hopped into the blazing waterfall, a burn being felt but not undesired. Soap suds still ran down her body when her phone vibrated off the sink counter and luckily onto the soft bath mat. "Hm? At this time?" Un-stealthily, she slipped out of the shower almost busting her head in the process in order to grab the phone and answer the call. "H-Hello?" Elenie quickly stood up to grab a towel and rushed her routine while still on the phone, "Wait-what about the Lewis's kid?? I thought--" A loud shout came from the receiver with the person receiving closing her eyes in an attempt to keep cool. 'Sagun, if you don't get down here and solve this right now!' At this point, the social worker was all dressed and putting her shoes on at the door. '6:32am.' She looked at the time on her phone, "Yes ma'am. I'm on my way now." Elenie Sagun. 28. Leo. Social Worker. Tired. In a car, on her way to a job that doesn't pay her to do the things not in her job description.
Elenie leaned back in her seat while stopped at a red light. "Why can't I just die?" Taking one last deep breath, she pressed her foot on the gas. The light was green, but for some reason a truck was heading her way. Fast. Of course getting to work on time unscathed would be too easy. "!" Elenie hit the steering wheel in frustration knowing that she was going to have to move away and start over in another dumb town again**. The truck's impact caused her car to skid down the opposing road hitting two other cars with one flip. The most popular thought in those moments was a sarcastic "Great."
