(jsaodkak sorry for the really late reply,, i was busy yesterday)
"I think everyone sees themselves as the hero of their own story, so to them they're doing the right thing. We're," Chenle muses out, gesturing between each other. "To them, probably the villians. Or maybe it's the princes who are villians to them." Chenle adds, a little sastified nod followed suit. "But who knows, we'll only ever be able to see the story from our prespective."
He laughs slightly. "That got too deep for our first meeting. But, yeah, almost everyone thinks yiu're really smart. Probably 'cause you are." Chenle compliments with another smile. "I see." He nods, listening attentively to the girl's explanations. "The science behind magic," He says. "Back home, no one believes magic exists, so I doubt they'd even think about the science behind it. Yet, here, it's a normal school subject." He speaks, with a laugh finiahing off his sentence. "Things are so different here. But a good different!"
@Zhong Chenle-Thumbelina’s Son Irene could help but smile at Chenle as he spoke. The boy was sweet for definite, and he seemed slightly lost in the situation he’d found himself in. “I guess villains always have a reason for what they’re doing. I always wonder if they see themselves at all similarly to how we see them.” she smirked as she spoke.
“Really? People think that?” she raised an eyebrow at the thought that people said she was one of the smarter kids. “Things with definite answers I can do, but as soon as interpretation comes into play I !” she chuckled slightly, before the conversation turned back to magicology. “The teachers here sometimes aren’t the best. So, in the most basic terms, magicology is the study of magic. It’s like the science behind magic really. And here we have a lot of different types of magic.” she explained, before shrugging her shoulders. “Before I came here I rarely left my parents house, so I had no idea that magic existed, so that’s why I struggled at first.”
@Irene-The Dirty Shepherdess's daughter The boy nodded and smile at the older girl's comforts. "Thanks, I think I need that." He says before streching out and letting out a small yawn. "You story sounds nice," He starts, begining to reat his chin on the oak of the table. "My story barely has a villian. If you can call a blind mole trying to marry a fairy evil, then, yeah, there's a villian." Chenle kids, a few breathy laughs escaping his lips before he suddenly bolts up from his lax postion.
"Overtake you? From what I heard, you're one of the smartest kids in school, so I doubt that'll be happening in this lifetime." He says with a dismissve shake of his head. "I mean the teachers did explain what it is, but I didn't really get it." He admits.
@Zhong Chenle-Thumbelina’s Son Chenle seemed to not be used to the idea that he had a story, and Irene smiled slightly, reaching out to squeeze his hand. “You’ll get used to it eventually. My story doesn’t even have a villain. No magic, no villain, just salt, sheep, and baking really.” she shrugged as she spoke. Compared to most others her destined story was boring but comfortable, although the idea of marrying a random prince was slightly unsettling.
Then she heard him mention that he might be half as smart as her and she chuckled slightly. “I don’t doubt that you’ll completely overtake me. So, rather than jumping head on in, what do you know from your classes so far? Do you know what magicology actually is or did the teachers just skip over that part?”
@Irene-The Dirty Shepherdess's daughter Chenle lets out a slightly stifled laugh, as the pair were in a library and his regular laughs are a bit too loud for such a place. As Irene made her statement, he bobs his head to her words, in agrreement. "At least the worst the villian's gonna do to me in my story is try to get me to marry them." He let's out a breath before he smiles.
'My story, huh.' He thinks to himself. The fact that he is destined to be a storybook character hasn't fully sunk in yet, but he doesn't have real problems with his story. As he had said, the villain -if you can even call the poor mole that - in his story, just tries to marry him. He had seen worst fates, plus he ends up marrying some other fairy. Shaking his head to stop thinking about his fate, he quickly responds to the girl's words.
"You did? Well, after these tutoring sessions, I'll be at least half as smart as you." Chenle comments with a quiet laugh. "Mhm, I think catching up would be the best plan."
@Zhong Chenle-Thumbelina’s Son Irene couldn’t help but smile at Chenle’s cheeriness, and then she heard him mention that the rebels were scary and she nodded in agreement. “Ugh tell me about it! I try to avoid that but sometimes there’s no way around it. They’re mostly harmless though, at least I’m fairly certain that they’re harmless.” she chuckled slightly.
“It’s a tough one for definite, I struggled with it at first to, but you’ve just got to find a way to make it click.” she listened to Chengle more. “The town and the school? Yeah, both can be a little confusing at first, I can show you around the school later, but first maybe we should have a look over the lessons you’ve already had for magicology and catch you up a bit?” she said calmly, tilting her head as she looked at him.
@Irene-The Dirty Shepherdess's daughter Chenle nodded and shot back a bright smile. That's right Irene! Zhong Chenle, but you probably didn't need to know that. Besides, you all seem to have much cooler last names." Chenle jokes, thinking about the masses of students with some form of monarchy in their last name. "Ever After High's nice," The boy responds, taking a seat next to the older. "Most students are nice but the rebels are slight itimidating." Chenle says, only half-kidding.
"Yeah it's magicology. It's just so unlike my regular school subjects." He basically whines out. But his pout quickly changes to one of intrest as the girl starts to bring out some books. "Oh!" He exclaims, looking over the stacks of books. "I really appreciate the books. I still need a lil' bit of help getting around town and figuring out more about the school." He admits.
@Zhong Chenle-Thumbelina’s Son As the boy approached Irene stood up and smiled, holding a hand out to him. “Just Irene is fine with me! Chenle, wasn’t it?” she asked, before moving to sit back down again still smiling slightly. “How are you finding Ever After High so far?” she said calmly, wanting to try and see if she could get to know Chenle a bit more first. She realised it would be easier to help him if she at least understood him a little.
Carefully she pulled a couple of books out of her bag and put them on the table between them, still smiling as she looked at the boy. “Magicology wasn’t it? These aren’t for just now, but they’re the books I got in first year. They helped me a lot and I figured that if you get stuck while at home or anything like that they might be useful for you.” she said, patting the two books with a larger smile than earlier.
@Irene-The Dirty Shepherdess's daughter Chenle sighed as he stared at his magicology. He was average at his normal classes back ay his regular school, but all these new subjects were just confusing him even more. Even things that are hard for most students to get, he got by in, like Experimental Fairy Math (he can thank his fairy hertiage for that.) But magicology just made /no/ sense to him. It wasn't based of any subject he learnt at his old school, so he was starting from page one.
He spots an older girl sitting by herself with studying matriels set out. He figures it's her and introduces himself. "Are you," Chenle realizes the advert said that Irene was a few years older than himself. "Miss Irene?" He asks, unsure how to adress the older. Who knows if fairy tale land worked differently.
@Zhong Chenle-Thumbelina’s Son A few days ago Irene had posted an advert saying that she was willing to tutor anyone that needed it in any subjects that weren’t music related or relied on perception like music.
Somehow she’d ended up with someone interested, and they’d arranged to meet in the library during their break.
Sighing she got to an empty table and put her bags down, getting her paper and pens ready as she looked out for the younger student she’d agreed to tutor,
