This rp is an soulmate au. However, it is not only a soulmate au. The core concept of this rp lies within the flower tattoos. There are two types of flower tattoos: 

1. the flower bud that everyone has on them since birth. This is your soulmate mark. the flower will bloom when you meet your soulmate. This is activated by touch but the location of the flower bud doesn't necessarily correspond with the place that you are first touched. However you will be able to feel this flower bloom. 

2. Flowers that bloom as a result of a deep bond between two people. these flowers bloom upon touch on the receiver's skin. Different flowers have different meanings such as gratitude, love, admiration, etc. Anyone can make these flowers bloom as long as you have a deep relationship between the two parties (e.g. parent and child, friends, lovers, etc.) 

 

Flower tattoos behave in a certain way after they have bloomed. 

a. tattoos will grow in size and become more and more lifelike and bright as your relationship grows. in time they will be able to move on the skin (as if there was an invisbile breeze) and seem alive. 

b. Tattoos that are not renewed through touching often, or if your relationship has weakened, will shrink, stop moving, and ultimately fade away. 

c.The flowers will vary with the relationship, but usually person a will only be able to make one type of flower bloom on person b. 

d.Soulmate flowers have two special properties. The first is that the soulmate flowers will become intertwined and bloom simultaneously, as well as mirror eachother across the soulmate's skin.

e.The second property is that a healthy soulmate bond will produce a sweet fragrance, while a bad relationship will cause the flowers to wilt and smell like rotting. 

 

Since their introduction, flower tattoos have been generally received positively by the public. People are okay with the soulmate bond never blooming, but it is generally considered bad if the person has no flowers blooming on their body. They also do not take kindly to those with the rotten smell or those who have rejected the soulmate bond. Conversely, some people will talk if a person has too many flowers upon their skin. Polyamorous soulmate bonds are rare but they do occur! However it's frowned upon to have such a relationship if you are not soulmates.
