To get through the entrance, you have to face the first watchtower. This is also where all the Shelter Guards located and they can switch shifts. Some stayed up late to look after the midnight hour and some slept only to be awakened when it is their turn to take over the duty in keeping everyone safe without a single intruder. The Connections would be prohibited unless they planned on to trick or attempting to break in another way round. It's all up to what you have.
