@jaewon j. “Dang,” Euijin hissed as she had accidentally knocked over some old boxes from her storage room. She had gone in to go looking for some old props she thought she could use in her next photo shoot but she misjudges how utterly cluttered the place was considering she always just dumped stuff in there and never bothered to organize them out of laziness and haste. The box she had knocked over was on the ground and had all its contents spilled on the floor like the mess she was. As she was about to clear the mess up, an old camera caught her attention.
The small digital camera that she had used throughout her high school year. It was small but it helped her take the first step into the world of photography.
What she didn’t expect to find was the memory card still in the camera so with a wave of excitement washing over her as she puts it in and clicks on the folder titled ‘High School Last Year Pics!’ It’s a trip down memory lane as she smiles fondly at the sight of her old classmates, friends and club members. When Euijin was appointed in charge of her class’s pictures for the year, she was determined to snap everything she could. Which resulted in a bunch of hilarious candid taken photos in her class but it’s not until she scrolls through all of them does she notice a recurring theme.
While she saw photos of her friends and other classmates, a good number of them were photos that were focused on one particular individual. There were photos of them in class with them as the main focus, them walking around school, them sleeping in class - Euijin chuckles at the thought of her younger self back then. She wondered how he’s doing now, that Jaewon kid from her class. He was cute, she’d admit it but she was way too busy with her club activities to ever interact with people outside of her clique. Maybe they had said hi or spoken a few sentences but that was it. Those feeling of interest she had for him never really developed nor did they fade away. She sends the digital album to her team at her studio, asking them to print the out for her so she could come and take them along with her latest client’s ‘dream wedding photos inspiration book’.
Two hours went in a flash when Euijin had arrived at the studio. There were pictures to be edited and confirmed to be sent and interviews that needed dates and clients that wanted answers. “I’ll look through the book and skype you about the setup,” Euijin says to her team as she packs up her things again just as her assistant came in and handed her a yellow envelope. “It’s the picture you wanted,” she says just as Euijin spills the content onto her desk. The glossy finish on the developed photos made them album worthy and Euijin reminded herself to go and buy a new album for this particular theme of photos. She thanks her assistant and places the photos into the file, holding it in her arms. Euijin walks down the street, probably thinking of where would be the perfect spot for her newest client’s wedding photos – everyone wanted something different than anybody else these days.
Maybe it’s because she’s too deep in her thoughts and terribly fails to recognize her surroundings is the reason why she bumps hard into a passing man and due to the unstableness of wearing heels, she staggers and the file slips from her grip and falls flat onto the ground. Another strike on unluckiness hits and the gust of wind causes some of the photos to scatter around. Euijin grabs the file, preventing more photos from leaking and starts to gather the other photos when she makes a startling discovery as her eyes look up at the person she had bumped into – she had just met the very man in her photos.
