@‘ beomgyu c. smiling apologetically at the poor guy in front of her, she reached out to pat his shoulder, "i think i dealt with her that she won't come back in, but she might come back in if she realizes i'm on break. this job really do be out our souls most days..." chuckling softly at his somewhat improved mood at presenting the coffee to beomgyu, she mused "well, from now on you can come to me for free coffee. because i also understand the plight of those who need their caffeine to function." grinning, chaeyoung grabbed her phone from under the counter to tuck in her back pocket and shuffled a couple steps behind to allow beomgyu some space to jump over. "thank you so much for your sacrifice, i will be back in 45 minutes. if you need anything, just message me!" her eyes drifted over to the kitchen doors on the restaurant side with a smile. "excuse me, i now have a date with those meatballs..."
@‘ chaeyoung l. leaning back against the counter, his elbows comfortably perched on the grey granite countertop, beomgyu silently listened as he willed his breathing back to normal. that sprint was his month’s worth of exercise. though, at her sudden revelation, he spun around, eyes wide, “ wait— wait so... you’re telling me that i’m going to have to deal with another uncooperative customer after i just dealt with one? damn, this job really , huh” he sighed, head dipping in yet again another defeat however the smell of freshly (well as fresh as it could be) brewed coffee brought about a wide grin from him. “anything for you” he feigned a playful lighthearted wink, “besides i wasn't doing anything much before anyways— thank you for this, i’d die without my 3 cups of joe and i can assure you, my only regret is not knocking over a few people” beomgyu chuckled before he raised the cup for a sip. “now, let me take over so you can rest your feet and get those meatballs you’ve been dying for” he offered, setting the cup down to jump over and behind the counter.
@‘ beomgyu c. the light from her eyes had all but extinguished by the time the huffy lady with the coupon that wasn't even supposed to be used in the restaurant and cafe had left, chaeyoung was seriously contemplating smacking her forehead on the counter. however, the only thing that stopped her was that she really didn't want to be seen as completely insane by the lingering customers by the tables. her saviour came in the form of a sprinting beomgyu, a very welcome sight indeed. honestly, she wanted to cry of relief now that beomgyu was here. "i would say its fine but i just had the fight of my life with a customer... but now you're here so if she comes back in good luck!" she stated, as she reached below the counter to grab the coffee that he had been asking for, "plus, your prize for doing that mad dash in here - i hope you didn't knock anyone over getting over to this side..."
@‘ chaeyoung l. of all the things he’d been made to assist with, decorative toilet seat covers had to be the strangest of the lot for who in their right mind would even think of purchasing one in the first place? but, alas here he was trying to track down the said item at the behest of an uncooperative customer or better still, known as the ‘karen’. glancing down at his watch with clear urgency, beomgyu sighed in defeat and decided to leave it be as he’d promised his poor colleague a well deserved break. sprinting from the storage room of the bathroom spaces department (as much as company policy frowned upon it), beomgyu forced his legs as fast they could to their in house cafe; panting as he came to a staggered stop by the cash counter. “chae, i’m so sorry i’m late! a customer needed something” he huffed, offering her an apologetic smile.
being an employee of the restaurant and cafe portion of ikea meant that chaeyoung spent most of her time salivating over the meatballs she could not eat. this time around she was manning cash for the cafe, plus it was early morning so that meant she wasn't going to be too busy until closer to lunch. she wondered if she could abandon her post at the cash register to go beg the kitchen to let her sneak a meatball...
@‘ jungkook j. The line at the cafeteria was rather long and San's stomach was already growling with hunger. 'Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up,' he chanted in his mind only for it to be cut off when he heard a voice next to him. Turning his head, San was greeted by a smiling Jungkook, to which he had reciprocated. "Well, I'm going to order myself some Swedish Meatballs and maybe a Blueberry Cheesecake for dessert." he replied. "I didn't know what you like so I just waited for you to come. Who knows that you might be allergic to what I'm going to order for you." he chuckled.
@‘ san c. it would be total bull if jungkook said he wasn't surprised and a tad bit excited when san offered to buy him dinner, because first- he was only joking about the duck and second, he honestly thought the other male would be pretty annoyed with him by now. regardless, he was not gonna pass on a free meal, especially with someone who might possibly become his first work friend. it wasn't hard to spot san's pretty cotton candy hair among the crowd but it did take him more than a few seconds to get to where the male was standing, thanks to the long line. "eyyy what you getting us, hm?" jungkook greeted with a blooming smile on his face, despite the dirty looks that he was getting from the people behind for cutting in the line but he couldn't care less.
