@Lee Taeyong Hyunjin stared between them, shifting his gaze to whoever decided to answer but it seemed like they really weren't in the mood to talk. Under other circumstances Hyunjin would be more than glad to just ignore them and enjoy his beer even the alcohol free one but he knew his sister wouldn't mind kicking him out if she saw him behaving recklessly like that.
"And I thought you were just happy to see me." He pouted jokingly and accepted the baby in his arms hesitantly. If Hyunjin could describe himself he would go with more of a dog person and definitely anti baby person but hell, they were passing the little human around as if it was a toy and not their freaking conscious decision decision. The bastards were rich enough to afford a , they didn't even look like they had to use a lot, both of them were uptight and so obviously less. He would feel sorry for the kid but now he had an awesome uncle who was just as useless as his parents if not more but at least he was willing to hold him. A random thought crossed his mind about sending a photo of him with the baby to Bangchan just to freak him out. Only if he had his number, the er kept changing phones whenever the cops caught him.
"Man you're so screwed...but don't worry uncle Jin is here now. He's gonna take you shopping, get you some cool mothering diapers and some damn proper beers. What the is wrong with your parents, kid?" He whispered to the baby who seemed to be the most intelligent being in the room after himself, to have a normal conversation with.
It didn't look like he was entirely welcome at least not by her husband so he chose to keep his mouth shut, resting his back behind the couch and hugging the baby awkwardly to his chest.
@Hwang Hyunjin The black on Hyunjin's knuckles did not go by unnoticed. But Taeyong shook his hand without a too noticeable stare. "We only have alcohol-free," He announced as he took a step to the side, handing the baby over to its mother. As he was heading towards the fridge, the unexpected question landed and Taeyong was glad it was his back that was turned towards the long haired male. For a few seconds he held silence, hoping Yeji would answer to her brother's curiosity. But he could feel her eyes burn into his back, just as the pressure to answer correctly was pushed onto his shoulders.
"Um," He started, ignoring the fridge to take a glass of water for himself first. "As long as everything's /on schedule/, we're pretty good," And as if they shared the same brain, Yeji knew what he meant. Usually she didn't listen as well, but because they had a guest now - or rather; her brother was here now - she did not hesitate to hand her son over to their new babysitter to start preparing some food.
"We could definitely use a few more hours in a day," She said, her slight exhaustion sounding through her voice. Taeyong was no different, but there was something else running through his mind now. "That's why it's really nice to have you here."
Yeji smiled to her brother one last time before she turned around to leave to the kitchen. Taeyong was still a bit confused about that part; not having the slightest clue what Hyunjin was doing here in the first place.
@Lee Taeyong Hyunjin knew there was nothing he could do to change her mind and being a homeless addict also wasn't an option. Only if he had a tent or a freaking car. But no Bangchan wanted a Harley that they could barely pay the taxes for. Other than that, he was a simple guy so he could adapt under most circumstances. Perhaps a baby was a bit too much even for him but at least he would get to enjoy some eye candy while being a parasite in his sister's house, that was surely a plus.
He simply shrugged as an answer and then his eyes focused on the other male as soon as he appeared with the infant in his arms. Never would he be able to understand why everyone called babies beautiful when they all looked like baby Yoda to him. "Hi. Hyunjin." He said, shaking the man's hand briefly, offering the palm that had tattooed on every finger each letter of the word ''. "A beer will do." Came a muttered answer as he still stared at the baby, leaning down, bending his knees to reach it. "Sweet." He finally said after inspecting his niece for some seconds before heading back to the couch, crossing his legs comfortably. "Guess I'm an uncle now." The baby talk and politeness wasn't really his forte' and even more so, the discussion about which parent a baby looked like. Such sweet talk didn't concern him at all. "So...I'm gonna ask the stereotypical question 'How's mom and dad' ?" He said the question a bit louder than the rest of the sentence, in an attempt to lighten up the mood somehow even though the subject was quite bitter for him, it was all his brain cells could come up with, to beat the awkward silence and the tension around them. They were obviously fighting before he got there, it wasn't like Hyunjin to pry on others' business though. He just needed a roof above his head, some water and half a cup of instant noodles per day so he would have to deal with whatever surprises the family held for him, which were more likely unpleasant like the chore of taking care of the baby but still far better than any other options he had at the moment.
@Hwang Hyunjin With the reply of her younger brother, Yeji's index finger immediately directed itself towards the duffel bag in the corner. And despite all of the mess that spread itself over the furniture and floor, one extra piece of potential clutter didn't seem to fit the place. In her mind at least.
"You can use the couch, but your luggage needs a room," Her eyes looked strict as she connected them with her brother's, but her tone was weary and suppressed. As if not wanting the baby to hear the frustration in her voice. Because Taeyong did not seem to get him to stop crying right off the bat.
"I do," Yeji replied almost immediately. The twinkle in her eyes did not predict much good for Hyunjin, and as she decided to flop down next to him on the couch instead of starting to cook dinner, she put a hand on his thigh. "You."
And right that moment Taeyong descended back down the stairs, with a child in his arms. It had a cute little baby-blue onesie on and barely looked a year old. He was small of shape, which was not a surprise if one looked at either one of his parents.
The husband of the house was rather confused at the familial feeling the guest seemed to have in this house, despite never having been here before. Or not that he knew of. But his wife caught the skepticism in his eyes from across the room and dug her fingers deeper inside the soft muscle of Hyunjin's knee.
"This is my brother," She introduced the blonde long-haired male sitting next to her. And as Taeyong rocked the baby in his arms, closing in the distance between them, he made a soft 'ah' sound. He had not caught the words earlier on, and as the polite male he was, he held the baby on one arm so he could reach out his other.
"Taeyong," He said. Long bony fingers stretched out in front of the blonde male he hadn't met before, a light smile slightly forced on his lips. Now at a closer distance, the latter realized his definition of handsome earlier on was quite underrated. The dark and sharp eyes that connected with his were captivating and the full eyebrows and fierce jawline were almost intimidating. His style of clothing was not flattering, yet he looked damned good in that stupid floral and headband screaming all the colors that did /not/ compliment the flowers. "Would you like something to drink?" Taeyong suggested, giving his wife a look of disappointment. She had her own mind of choosing when to have manners and when not.
@Lee Taeyong Hyunjin watched as his sister's husband left and he wasn't a bit ashamed that his eyes momentarily checked the man out from head to toe. He was still unable to comprehend the fact that his sis had settled down and with a man like that? Hell Hyunjin himself would consider marriage with such a drop dead gorgeous dude who seemed to fit better in a magazine cover rather than in a mediocre but still kind of neat apartment. However he still reminded himself that it seemed too good to be true. Looks with brains rarely went together and since the other had chosen his sister as his wife they probably had the same iq. Which was negative according to Hyunjin's personal experience.
"I could use the couch. Seems cozy. " He said as he moved his bag towards the living room, looking around. Even though his tone was casual, all the furniture seemed worth more than himself and they were certainly an upgrade compared to sleeping on a gym mattress in their rat hole of a studio that they could barely afford the rent for. And now that the useless motherer managed to get his locked up, there was no way Hyunjin himself could make ends meet. "It'll do." He muttered before dropping himself on the couch, resting his arms on the armrest comfortably. A free 5 star hotel...there should be a catch. His sister would never help him just by the goodness of her heart, there must be something that benefited her too. "So...you have a nanny for the poop machine or-?" He asked, hoping that the answer would be positive even though his subconscious kept telling him the opposite.
@Hwang Hyunjin The place was a mess. If one did not know better they’d think this was a student’s dorm, and not that of two fully grown and working adults. Plus, the nanny wasn’t even out the door when Yeji decided to make a scene of her husband taking the cash out of her wallet to do the groceries. The click of the front door wasn’t even audible through the unimaginable long strings of euphemistic curse words. If it wasn’t for Taeyong’s short-lived arrival, he wouldn’t have known better than to reply with the same volume. Right now, though, he was tired. And in great need of some relaxation. And half-glad the doorbell rang to cut Yeji’s rant short, if the baby’s crying wouldn’t have done so already.
Taeyong was about to make his way upstairs as his wife made a move to open the door. She didn’t seem as surprised as he was. And she didn’t even make the effort to put a smile on her lips. Instead, she greeted the (who seemed to be expected) male with a frown on her well maintained eyebrows. Probably not in the mood to put up a facade. Taeyong stood and watched. Someone unfamiliar yet quite familiar looking stood on their doorstep. Through the baggy clothes, headband and hair-in-desperate-need-of-a-cut, one could see handsome features. And Taeyong might have let it distract himself from the unusual entrance he had made.
“Husband,” Yeji replied with the most monotonous voice she could muster. She did not even turn around to make eye-contact. As if she talked about him like he was a package she did not wish to receive. Like a letter saying she had a penalty for speeding. And it had Taeyong turn around to go rock the baby back to sleep. Not that he was annoyed by it. Not that he really cared. He simply didn’t know any better at this point.
The male was comfy enough to step inside without invitation, but Yeji didn’t mind. She closed the door behind him and let out a sigh. She seemed tired too. It wasn’t obvious, but the light blue beneath her eyes slightly peeked through her make-up. “That’s Taeyong,” She said, this time tilting her head to watch his form disappear into the baby’s room. “I haven’t cleared your room yet. Figured two men would be quicker than one female.”

It was one of the few times that Hyunjin didn't really feel like leaving the rehabilitation center. Actually he felt like he could understand the crazy drunkards' lectures way better than he had ever comprehended his parent's or for that matter, his sister's words. At least he hadn't fought with her but she still took their parents' side so it wasn't like he was all hyped up to meet her again after a while. Which was why he chose to dress for the occasion like the stereotypical junky guy as portrayed in tv series and as viewed by his whole family; a floral shirt 2 times bigger than his true size, worn out baggy ripped jeans, his dirty converse shoes and of course a ridiculous colorful headband he had gotten once when his parents had asked him to dress formally for dinner. Painting his nails black has always been his thing like the silver rings around his index finger and thumb that also weren't really part of the act. It had been only a few months since he accepted that his official buddy was locked up in jail and only a few weeks since he stopped whimpering every night for him so now he was back to his comical energetic self, ready for trouble with the snobs.
All of his belongings were placed in a duffel bag that he carried on his left shoulder, ringing the bell excitedly while chewing on his gum. As soon as the door opened, he stepped inside without a warning, dropping the bag carelessly on the corner. "I'm back bitc- big sis." He corrected himself purposefully a bit too late, his lips forming a playful smirk as he looked around the house eagerly. Once he spotted who he guessed was her husband, his gum bubble blew and he raised an eyebrow in interest. Who would have thought his reserved sister could get someone as hot as that. "That your hubby or lover?"
