the few seconds of silence made her heart race. despite the calmness of her outward expression and treatment towards the male, her mind was in shambles trying to make sense of why'd they have to meet when she was wearing his old piece of clothing. yeji's moved on from the butterflies she'd get from just him existing near her, but she can't help but feel like they've flown back in time by their sudden meet. he was the source of her joy and comfort before the reality of life sinked in and washed them both away.

she could recognize that cresent-formed eye smile, a mental image of his smile popping up in her head as she listened to him say her name. her demeanor stayed the same as the girl silently watched him get settled, noticing he got his usual, causing a small laugh to slip past her lips. "still getting your usual, i see." she muses, sipping on her drink before shifting in her seat to face him properly. obviously their sudden meet-up caught her off-guard, but the feeling of displeasure was no where to be found as she watched her long-time friend stumble on how to start their converdation. "mhm, it has been quite some time since i last saw you— but i've been good! finallt have some time to rest since our previous comeback." she answered, eyes scanning their surroundings before looking back at him. "but how've you been?"

it’s the few seconds that drag between them that seem like hours, nearly lodging his heart into his throat as he questions if this just someone who looked identical to her—coincidentally, one wrapped in his identical sweater. he swears he’s stared at his previous crush enough to know about all the details that were there—her sharp yet soft umber eyes that grinned immensely when she smiled. but before he could part his lips and turn off with an apology, he perks up when his clouds of delusions dissipate upon her voice. the currents seem to stop crashing into the rocks that held his soles, quickly creeping out into low tides as the sun rippled mediated the storm that once brewed in the inside of his head. it was her.

“yeji,” he finds himself hushing out in confirmation, in shock, astonishment. although the white mask hovers over his features, his eyes curl into happy crescents of their own as he settles down across from her. he soon unlatches one of the ear loops, gaze nearly hesitating to set upon her with the clear of the throat, setting his cup in front with a dimpled smile. it’s nearly evident that he’s in disbelief, but yet pleased stumbling upon their old days years later in the same spot. “uh,” he starts off rather timidly, a hand sheepishly rubbing at the back of his neck, unsure of how to act, “it’s been awhile—being here and all. last time I saw you—music bank? not the cafe of course, but how have you been?”
