@♛ Tentenko Minhyuk nodded his head at her advice. He straightened at his seat and cleared his throat. "It sounds like something happened to you there." He said before bringing the bottle to his lips and taking a sip of his drink.
He laughed as he listened to her telling about her aunt. "Okay," he said as he set the bottle down on the counter. "Out of all nicknames that you heard, which one is your favorite?" he asks as his head to the side and looked at her.
@♛ Lee Minhyuk Tentenko shook her head. “You’re new, after you’ve been here a few years you realise how often bad happens over there.” she frowned as she spoke. “Just… don’t trust them you know? Give them too much trust and they’ll you up. Trust anyone too much, but that side especially.”
She chuckled slightly at his words, pushing her hair out of her face when it fell into her eyes. “Yeah, Japanese. My mother chose it. My aunt wanted me to change it, but I told her to off.” she sighed slightly, shaking her head. “I think that’s why there’s so many nicknames.” she hummed softly.
@♛ Tentenko "Oh ! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you." he apologized. "I didn't know that it was that bad." he said apologetically. He genuinely didn't know considering that he's new around here and is still getting used to the new city. "I mean, my clients did warn me but yeah..." he trailed off. He does have clients living at the East side and they did told him to be vigilant when walking or travelling towards that side of the city but he didn't put too much though into as it was normal for him to be cautious when going to a new environment.
"Tentenko" he nodded repeated trying to pronounce it properly. "Is that Japanese?" he asked. "It's a bit of a mouthful though" he jokingly said as he chuckled.
@♛ Lee Minhyuk "That they most definitely can..." for a moment she frowned, swirling her bottle of cider before taking a swig from it and propping her head up on her palm as she watched the man, before a look of distaste came over her features as he asked which side she was from.
"Here, the West. Do I look like an Easty? Wouldn't dare even set foot in the East, no thank you!" she was quick to answer, a hint of disgust in her voice everytime she thought of the East side. In her eyes so many people were oblivious to what the residents of the East were doing. She only knew of it because of her job, she saw what had been left behind...
"Minhyuk? It's nice to meet you. I'm Tentenko." she said, shaking his hand and offering a slight smile. "Most people just call me Tenten, or Ten, or Tenko. I don't think there's many people that actually call me Tentenko." she shurgged as she spoke.
@♛ Tentenko "That is a good point" he laughed and nodded. "Besides people can be horrible" he added. Minhyuk downs the rest of his drink and orders a bottle of beer instead. He sighed as he felt the effects of alcohol relaxing his body. He nodded and chuckled slightly at her statement.
Mike sat silently while trying to think of a conversation topic since he's quite awkward when it comes to social interactions before continuing "So, do you live here at the West? or East?" he asks and suddenly laughs in realization. "Wait, I just realized that I haven't introduced myself to you properly." he chuckled. "I'm Minhyuk by the way" he smiles as he extended his hand towards her.
@♛ Lee Minhyuk She listened to him, humming slightly in response to his reasoning for choosing his job. "It sounds like you're passionate about it. That's good." she tilted her head to look at him.
"Why is what? Why am I not good with people?" she hummed, before shrugging and sighing. "I have set ways of doing things, people get in the way of that. It's a pain, so I never learned to be good with people." she exhaled before thinking and shaking her head. "There was a bomb scare once but I don't think that's the kind of weird or frightening you were looking for. Supernatural types, nothing like that." she shook her head and chuckled.
@♛ Tentenko He nodded his head as he listened to her He chuckled in agreement as she explained her perspective about crime tv shows.
"Yup, I became interested in human anatomy and physiology so I chose a career that is related to it" he said.
"Why is that?" He asked her. " Well, are there times where something weird or frightening happened to you while examining a body?"
@♛ Lee Minhyuk Tentenko nodded at his confirmation of his job. To her it didn't sound much fun, then again she wasn't exactly the best around people. Then as he started speaking about her job she felt her eyes widen in a mix of shock and confusion. Most of the people she'd told about her job, which was very few, weren't too interested, possibly spooked by the reminder of death and violent crime.
"I... yeah... TV shows go a bit overboard. It's not as... I don't know." she shrugged slightly, shaking her head before his question came up. "I was good at science and , so I wanted to do something in the medical field, but I'm not good with people." she hummed as she spoke. "So working with dead people and the force made more sense."
@♛ Tentenko "Yup, some are immobile while some feel pain they move so it's our job to help them recover." he nods and smiles. He thanked the bartender as they placed him another fresh drink. Minhyuk slightly widened his eyes in excitement as he heard her occupation.
"That's cool! I've watched a lot of crime shows and documentaries" he said. "I always found it interesting when a medical examiner starts to examine a victim's body. Especially when they start explaining what happened to the body." he rambled. He then realized that he was talking too much so he stopped and smiled apologetically at her. "Sorry, I get excited sometimes." He said sheepishly and proceeds to take another sip from his drink.
"So what made you want to become a medical examiner?" he asks and slightly tilts his head in curiosity.
@♛ Lee Minhyuk She saw him raise his hands as he spoke and she couldn't help but chuckle slightly as she did so before shaking her head slightly, nodding as he mentioned having needed a change of scenery. "You've must have come from somewhere pretty bad if this place is better..." she mused before exhaling.
"Physical Therapist? Is that when you work with people who've been immobile for a bit and help them move again?" she questioned, uncertain as to what it was. "I... I'm a medical examiner. Work with the police, help them identify causes of death, things like that..."
@♛ Tentenko He chuckled to himself as he saw her glaring rolling his eyes at him. "Alright, guilty as charged" he said amusingly as he raised his hands in surrender.
"I guess I needed a change of scenery," he shrugged his shoulder as he took another sip. He did not explain further as it was a sore topic for him to talk about. "I work as a physical therapist so I work at clinics or sometimes I go to clients' home to do my service" he said. "How about you? What do you for a living?" He asked her as he signals the bartender for another drink.
@♛ Lee Minhyuk She rolled her eyes, glaring at the man slightly as he brought up the fact that they were in a bar before shaking her head. “Might be in a bar but you’re being louder than everyone else.” she mused, stirring her drinking a few times and keeping her attention.
“Just moved here? Why here?” she shot the man another glance before shaking her head. “I don’t usually go anywhere except home and work.” she answered, shrugging her shoulders as she did so. “What do you do? Like jobs?” she asked, downing the last of her drink and calling the bartender over to order a fruity bottle of cider.
@♛ Tentenko He nearly choked his drink in surprise as he suddenly heard the woman beside him spoke to him.
“Oops, sorry” he apologized and smiled sheepishly at her. He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. Although he thought that it was funny that someone scolded him for being noisy at a bar. So he looked at her amusingly. “You do know that we are in a bar, right? So it must be a little bit loud” he asked her jokingly. “Hmm, not really. I just moved here recently.” He said as he took another sip on his drink.
“How about you?” he asked her as he glanced at her in the corner of his eye as he traced the rim of his glass trying to continue the conversation.
@♛ Lee Minhyuk She was somewhat aware of the people nearest to her in the bar and as the man approached the bar, buying himself a drink and sitting on a stool, she cast a glance towards him, realising that he was closer than de was usually comfortable with anyone being.
“You’re loud…” she mused, casting her attention back to her phone and scrolling through it before trying to work out what she was supposed to say. She was far more used to dealing with the dead than the living and she was panicking a little inside, just trying to decide what was the most normal sounding thing to say to someone that she didn’t know.
“Come here a lot?” she asked, her voice tone flat despite her attempts to sound remotely normal, before she took another sip of her daiquiri.
@♛ Tentenko Minhyuk stepped out of the apartment complex where he just finished his last therapy session of the day with his client. He took a deep breath and sighed in relief signifying the end of his work shift. He decided to head to a nearby bar to celebrate after a long day at work.
“I deserve that drink” he muttered, and chuckled to himself before starting his walk towards the bar. He shoved his hands into his pockets while looking around the neighborhood taking in the new surroundings as he recently moved here in Seoul.
He shows the staff his ID before entering the establishment. He headed towards the bar, and sat on one of the stools before ordering an old-fashioned for himself. As he waits for his drink, he looked around the bar and saw that there wasn’t much a lot of people considering it is a workday. Then he looked towards his right, and notices a woman sipping on her drink quietly while being on her phone.
“Here you go,” the bartender placed his drink in front of him. He thanked the bartender, took a sip of his drink, and he released a sigh of satisfaction.
@♛ Lee Minhyuk She'd finished work roughly half an hour ago and managed to change into more normal clothes, even taken a shower at work to get rid of all the different chemical smells her work left on her, but she hadn't been prepared to go home just yet.
And so she'd found herself here, constantly having to show the staff her ID to stop them from trying to kick her out of the establishment. She didn't go to bars or clubs all that often for that reason, but tonight she just didn't want to go back to an empty apartment where she knew nobody would ever be waiting for her.
Now she was sat at the bar, a strawberry daiquiri in front of her on the bar as she scrolled through her phone, as antisocial as she always was.
