cabin 3!

@kim jongin. seungmin watched jongin prepare the milk, the scent wafting across the kitchen as soon as the pot was placed on the stove. hearing that it was the other's first day at the retreat, seungmin raised his eyebrows in surprise before rubbing his nape sheepishly. it was quite ironic to be asking for directions from someone who knew this place for a few hours more than himself.

seungmin quickly regained his composure and nodded in agreement to the other's next statement. "it's my first time at this kind of place too," he said truthfully. he laughed at jongin's joke, he himself having the same thoughts. "to be honest, i've never lived with other people before, except for the occasional overseas trip." fidgeting with his fingers slightly on the table, he added, "hopefully, i'll get along with my cabin mates."

"no, i don't mind," seungmin shook his head, waving his hands in front of him. "i completed my studies, and i decided to take a break here before working." he received the cup from jongin and took a sip from it as he listened to jongin share about himself. seungmin's eyes widened as he heard jongin's similar sentiments. "i wanted to meet some new people here, as well, actually," he said. "also, if you're comfortable with sharing, what kind of work do you do?" seungmin then pointed to the cup of hot chocolate before him, a smile of satsifaction on his face. "this is really good, by the way."

@kim seungmin. jongin had the milk boiling in a pot on the stove, kind of happy that the other also liked milk. though the male did say he didn't mind it either way, doesn't mean he didn't have a preference. he grabbed two cups out, and the container of the hot chocolate mix, to be prepared when the milk was done heating up. he turned towards the other leaning his back against the counter. "i actually just got here earlier today." jongin admitted. "it's my first time coming to a place like this, but i think it's kind of nice." he answered honestly. the idea of having roommates, but still being able to have your own private space without others bothering you was nice. "having a private bathroom is especially nice." jongin joked lightly. "i don't mind sharing a cabin with someone, but i don't know about sharing a shower with a stranger."

taking a moment to stir the milk, jongin looked at the other male. "what brings you here?" he asked curiously. "if you don't mind me asking that is. just regular vacation or something else?" once the milk was done heating up, the male poured some in each of the glasses while mixing up the hot chocolate mix in them, he grabbed some marshmallows before bringing the cups to the table, pushing one towards seungmin, along with a small spoon and some more mix just in case he wanted to add more. "a vacation is just why i'm here, my co-workers suggested it, said it would be nice to meet some new people."

@kim jongin. as the man laid his coat down, seungmin took his cue to shake off his padded jacket, but still choosing to lay it down on his luggage rather than on the couch. seungmin trailed along behind the man as he travelled from room to room, taking the time to look at the interior of the cabin. if all the cabins were similar, seungmin would definitely be living in comfort throughout his stay.

seungmin nodded in agreement as he said, "hopefully, i'll be able to pay it forward one day." thinking about it a little more, he added, with a small chuckle, "though, i wouldn't wish for others to be lost the same way as i was."

seungmin didn't need to think much before replying to the man's question, his preferences pretty much set in stone. "with milk, please." as the man gestured to the seating options, seungmin thanked him once again, before sitting down at the table in the kitchen so that he could continue the conversation with his saviour, whom he now knew as jongin. "nice to meet you, jongin," seungmin replied as he returned the other's bow with one of his own from his seat. "i'm kim seungmin."

as jongin prepared the hot chocolate, seungmin followed up with some questions of his own. "so, how long have you been here?" he then looked outside the kitchen to the living area. "and how's living in the cabin so far?"

@kim seungmin. Once the man came inside Jongin had felt a little better, knowing that the male wasn't out in the cold, the stairs were slightly infront of the doorway and his room was one of the first, so he wasn't too far to hear anything the other said. Grabbing the coat that had been laying on his bed, Jongin hopped down the stairs quickly.

"It's not problem really!" Jongin gave a smile to the other as he laid his coat down on the back of the couch, before heading towards the kitchen area. "I would hope that if the same thing happened to me, I would have the same help." He nodded lightly grabbing the stuff out the cabinets to prepare the hot chocolate, while looking at the other.

"Do you prefer milk or water for hot chocolate?" Jongin asked curiously before heating the others preferred drink up. "I don't mind either way of course, the milk makes it a bit creamier though." Jongin added. "I'm sorry, getting ahead of myself." The male had realized how rude he was being. "First of all, feel free to have a seat anywhere." Jongin motioned to the table or the couch. "And secondly, I'm Jongin by the way." He gave a small bow. "It's nice to meet you."

@kim jongin. if the man in the doorway could actually bring him to cabin one, he would truly become seungmin's saviour. seungmin quickly thanked the man, before nodding in understanding. "yes, please do get a coat," seungmin said. a coat was definitely essential in this weather, as he had experienced first-hand.

seungmin was already prepared to wait outside for his saviour to equip himself with the necessary armour, but at the man's invitation into the cabin, seungmin quickly changed his mind. he crossed the border between the freezing outdoors and the warm cabin, his luggage in tow. seungmin couldn't express how thankful he was towards his saviour, but he still tried as he thanked the man once more.

hearing his saviour's offer, seungmin considered his options. he had already thought about how his check-in day would go: check in, unpack, talk to cabin mates if friendly, walk around if they were not. he had even factored in buffer time in case he got lost, which was evidently needed. hanging out before unpacking wasn't in the schedule, yet for some reason, seungmin didn't mind some change this time round.

"hot chocolate does sound pretty nice," seungmin said, smiling at the kind stranger. "we can find my cabin later, if you have the time to spare." after all, his saviour had already extended so much help, and seungmin didn't want to encroach on the man's personal time. however, to show his appreciation, seungmin rubbed his gloved hands together and added, "in this cabin, i'm feeling much warmer already."

@kim seungmin. The wintery rosen face of the male that stood outside his door let Jongin know that the male had been outside for a little bit before Jongin even came to open the door. Jongin stepped outside, leaving his front door slightly ajar, and looked around. He remembered hearing the way to get to his cabin, but also took note that not all the cabins are together, so cabin one could be in a completely different direction.

"Don't worry about it." Jongin said, it was quite cold outside which Jongin came to realize quickly upon realizing he had left his coat upstairs in his room. "I don't mind one bit, let me just get my coat." Jongin said stepping back inside and gesturing to allow the other to follow him in, he didn't want him to be waiting outside in the cold even if it was just for a minute.

"If you want, I found some hot chocolate in the kitchen," He began. "I can make some up real quick and we can get you warmed up before searching for the cabin?" Jongin asked as he walked further into the cabin, "Of course, it might be easier just to go ahead and get the searching over with first?"

@kim jongin. seungmin let his voice ring through the cabin, then waited. he wondered if there was anyone inside the building, and if there were, whether any one of them would open the door to someone who would likely be a stranger.

seungmin wasn't sure how long he had been standing in front of the door. it was probably only a few minutes, but out in the cold with silence hanging in the chilly air, it felt way too long. seungmin was tempted to just turn around and head back to the front desk, when his ears perked up at the sounds of movement behind the door, compelling him to stay rooted at the entrance.

finally, the door opened, and standing there in the doorway, was his saviour in the form of a man who looked to be slightly older than himself.

hearing his saviour say that the cabin was, in fact, not cabin 1, seungmin was flustered. his eyes darted around, searching for some indication of the cabin number, as he felt his ears heat up. "oh, i must have gotten it wrong, then," he replied to the man. at the man's offer, seungmin nodded his head and replied, "yes, please, if that wouldn't be too much of a trouble for you." gesturing to the vast surroundings of the resort behind him, he said, "the resort's really big, and as you can see, i'm probably not the best with directions."

@kim seungmin. In the time that Jongin was in his room, he had scrolled through social media, checked his work email and even responded to a few things. It had actually been pretty productive hour for him. When he decided he was done, he went down to the kitchen to see if there was any sort of food put away for the guests or if he would have to go and buy some things himself. One by one he opened the cabinets, and found that there was some food, but he would definitely need to go shopping.

Grabbing a beef jerky stick he took a few bites out of it before he heard some rattling at the door, before it went silent for a moment. Jongin shrugged his shoulders, thinking nothing of it. It could have been anything, he didn't even consider the fact that another person out there, as he was thinking they would just come inside. He had been halfway up the stairs when he heard knocking on the door and someone calling out.

So, it was another human. Of course, it was. Jongin jogged back down the stairs and opened the door, hearing the last part of the other person's question.

"Cabin 1?" Jongin shook his head, observing the other person. "This is Cabin 3, at least i'm sure of it. My keys worked." Jongin said. "I can help you find your cabin though?" He didn't have anything special planned for his first day here, so he didn't mind offering.

@kim jongin. having recieved his keys from jisung, seungmin dragged his small luggage along to find where he would be staying for his little vacation. as he walked, he thought about what kind of people he would be staying with, and what he would say when he met them.

eventually, he found himself at his cabin. he put the key into the keyhole, turned it, and pushed the door, ready to greet whoever might have been standing behind the door. however, the door remained shut.

weird.

he tried once more, but still, the door wouldn't open. seungmin looked back at where he had come from, wondering if there had been a mixup with the keys. he considered going back to the front desk to check with jisung, but before he made the walk back, he decided to try something else.

knocking on the door, seungmin called out, "hello, is anybody in here? is this cabin 1?"

Upon arriving at the resort, Jongin retrevied his cabin key, and a special room key at the welcome desk. The cabins were set up so you could have privacy but also able to mingle with other people enjoying the resort. It was one of the main attractions of the resort, especially to people who didn't really have a chance to get out and interact with people very often. However, Jongin did wonder about the system of rooming people together, was it random or do they have some sort of system?

Pushing those thoughts aside, the male took his bag and entered the cabin, it was the basic set up, and it seemed like nothing had been touched. That meant the boy was the first to arrive. "This is my home for vacation." He mumbled lightly to himself, looking at his key as he walked up the stairs to where the bedrooms where, noticing there was infact markings on the doors, and went to the one that matched his key,

Taking his bag inside his room, he unpacked everything, placing things nicely in his room, the male liked to keep things tidy. Afterwords, the boy left the door open but sat on his bed, back against the wall as he scrolled through his phone, listening to see if any of his cabinmates would arrive before he decided to explore some of the resort.
