Oe-jeon : Outer Palace
The Oe-jeon is the most front part of the palace. There is a wide courtyard called “Jo-jeong”. In this courtyard, several different events were held such as royal audience, the official banquet, the foreign messenger reception, and the highest-level state exam. There is a ‘Jeong-jeon’ inside courtyard which is the center building in this area.
