@lee dongmin Jennie’s father wasn’t overtly the guy to hide his aggression with anyone, but it was a formal event. She had thought he walked away, but she felt another strong foots step start to approach, her head shooting up to see who it was. And it wasn’t her father. It was a guy…she didn’t recognize.
She watched as he made a comment, barely looking at her as he extending a peice of clothe. Jennie remembered her tears once the fear and flinch surpassed and she took the handkerchief gently from the other as she wiped her tears away.
The alpha was kind…she knew from the smell and tension light in the air that’s what he was. Her cheek still stung some, so she was sure it was pink with a hand print. Another reason to sit outside and wait. She coughed to get the shakes out of her chest, shivering harshly once more before having a sense of control as she looked out to the lake. It was gorgeous in its expanse as the sun began to set behind the mountains due to the time.
The omega knew how to regulate, she took deep breathes, not believing the other would mind, before she felt the water stop coming into her vision , and held back out the handkerchief .
“Thank you,” her voice came out a bit small, almost hallow, and she cleared again to try and get herself back. Gosh this event was about to .
She tried to stand up, but her legs still shook, so she hesitated and let herself sit down again. “Sorry, I just need a minute and I’ll let you enjoy.” She apologized to the stranger as she rubbed her legs over her, self soothing them like a child. Often she wished she was stronger. Maybe not an omega (though she wanted kids). But her father took all energy from her, like a leech.
The thoughts crossed her mind about the unfamiliar. Did he see what happened? Did he come out just in time to miss it? Jennie couldn’t tell, but she hoped it was the later version.
@kim jennie ˡᵘⁿᵃ ⋆ ostentatious evening dinner parties, toffee-nosed gathering of "elite wolves", which seemed more like an assemblage of boastful peacocks, the atmosphere was comparatively more stifling than the bowtie knotted around his throat.
a slender stem of the crystal flute glass caught betwixt his two fingers and thumb, swirling the effervescent liquid gold.
armoured with a genial veneer and decorum, dongmin quickly found himself surrounded by a small crowd of elderly men searching for a prospective son-in-law, subtlety emptied in haste akin to his second glass of champagne. uncaring of presenting their overqualified children as premium products on sale.
the young man excused himself, to procure a third drink upon noticing the server carry another round of filled glasses.
and,
dongmin paused beside the uniformed male to place the empty glass on the tray and uttering a soft albeit audible, 'thank you.'
then, passed by.
footsteps impermanently stopped once again, in front of the display of extravagant desserts, neglected, spare a few disinterested glances. on his white luncheon plate, he secured a single piece of pistachio paris-brest and a couple of dark chocolate covered strawberries dusted with edible gold.
pure elation swirling in those inky pair of orbs, upon having successfully escaped towards the back gardens with the clear view of an enchanting lake, he'd noticed on the path leading towards the host's chateau.
"...IRRELEVANT." roared a prime voice that had the hairs at his nape standing. goosebumps ferociously dancing across then entire expanse of his flesh.
instinctively paralyzed to the spot, as if anchored down to the ground. he watched as the woman cowered beneath the domineering prime alpha, a significantly older man, she called, 'dad'.
not one to eavesdrop, dongmin would have immediately retraced his path and feign ignorance. but he couldn't, as the woman collapsed as soon as the furious man left the scene. the strident sound of large palm meeting delicate skin ringing clear in his eardrums.
he walked towards the woman, ensuring his footsteps was loud and clear, announcing of his arrival. the silk pocket square removed from its place and extended towards her.
"the weather is so windy, is it not, miss?" he quizzed in a gentle tone, before adding,
"my eyes keep watering repeatedly, I suppose it is the same for you."
he sat down on the virid carpet, at arms length from her. long legs folded atop each other and the dessert plate on his lap.
dongmin doesn't intrude, merely accompanied the lady waiting, patiently for her to regain her composure.
@lee dongmin Jennie didn’t often go to things with her father in tow. Ever since she moved out at 18, she only weekly visited him to check on his health, check the house… nothing more, nothing less. But he had told her that this dinner party was mandatory, as she was engaged to be married and (unspokenly) there were power moves at play between families.
It didn’t take long though for the two to get into an argument on the walk over and right outside the venue.
“Dad…”
“It’s final Jennie.”
“It’s not my choice!” The daughter had a very hard time sticking up for herself in their dynamic, having been so abused most of her life. She didn’t even recognize that term until she moved out. Even now she’s still on the healing process, but the more she got away from her dad, the more she had his stubborn, firey spirit.
“ Your choice is irrelevant in this matter,”
“Dad-“
“I said IT IRRELEVANT.” The prime used his voice over her, causing the omega to literally cower as her back hit the side of the venue, gasping from breathe, and he didn’t even have to move to use his special strength.
“Enough of this ing. Collect your behavior and get your fixed” he spat toward her, before straightening out his suit , checking his watch for the time. He sighed as Jennie was left holding her chest as her brain buzzed from the prime’s voice, feeling closed. The alpha stepped forward and gripped her arm,
“Get your together, stand up straight, and come inside,” he growled again in her ear as she just stood, numb to it at this point, before he promptly slapped her cheek (his way of snapping her out of herself from the prime voice), but also because she talked back, causing her head to turn to the left as she remained silent. He took a breathe and then moved around from the back of the building where they were at, inside, with a joyful smile on his face as he greeted friends.
Meanwhile, Jennie’s legs shook so hard she slide down the wall to the grassy floor, exhaling shakily, hand still on the front of her white, long maxi dress, trying to catch herself. She hated this. That voice. His breathe on her… this arranged marriage.
With her other hand she reached up and dug her fingers through her thick chocolate locks that cascaded down her back. Tears naturally rose to her face from the impact of the slap, and the Luna looked over the lake as she wiped them away. How was she going to make it through a whole night like this?
@lee kikwang ᵖʳⁱᵐᵉ He was an idiot. The biggest idiot to walk the planet to think that his half assed heist would actually pan out! Chan cursed himself as he continued to run through the forest, his lungs burning as he greedily gulped in the cool air to stave off the exhausted fog that had begun to make his head feel like it was full of cotton balls. Though his pounding heartbeat was loud in his ears, he could still hear the sounds of shouts as he was pursued, but the one thing that he had going for him was that city wolves didn't fare well in the terrain since they couldn't shift to better traverse it. If it wasn't for the hard-drive that he was carrying, Chan would have wolfed out himself to make the run a bit easier on himself, but he wasn't about to dump the goods for them to sniff out when he'd worked so hard to steal it.
The smell of smoke was carried to him on the wind and Chan took off towards it, hoping that the mix of potent scents would throw his pursuers off his trail. It was beginning to become nightfall, too, so they couldn't possibly keep it up, right? Stumbling up to what appeared to be a homestead, Chan felt something hot and wet trailing down his cheek, only realizing when he reached up to touch it that one of the branches that had whipped against his face while he was running had left a nick. He quickly wiped it on his jeans and stowed the hard drive into the inner pocket of his jacket as he approached the cabin nestled in the forest. There was a man standing outside, a cigarette pressed to his lips, and Chan hesitated only slightly before approaching.
"Excuse me. Sorry to bother you and uh-- trespass on your property..." Chan's brows furrowed as he realized that both those offenses sounded kind of bad when combined together. "It's just the sun is going down. Would you mind if I rested here for a bit? I wont be any trouble."
It was near sunset by the time he finished up with the day's work. Sweat dripped from his brow as he wiped away the beads of perspiration with the back of his arm, mixing it with the soot that covered sunkissed skin. the heat within the workshop still sweltering despite the embers smoldering into a dim glow of red near extinction. It was a striking contrast to the frigid air when heavy steps guided him out the entrance, a leather apron discarded upon the ashy floor, shirtless as calloused fingers dug around in his pocket for a wooden cigarette box with burn carvings of two crude swans, a relic of a past he desperately clung to. A hand rolled cancer stick was soon produced, a match struck, the tip lit as he placed it between chapped lips, stopping in his tracks between a quaint little cottage he called home and the work shop to smoke. Tendrils of smoke rose and dissipated, a ritual after a long day. The same as every other day. Well, perhaps this one was a little colder. That, he welcomed with open arms, causing him to linger within the gentle embrace of mother nature, the rush of nicotine flooding his veins and offering a brief high that had eye lids growing heavy, the world around him suddenly going dark as they closed shut. All that could be heard was the sweet symphony of the world around him, birds with their cheery melodies, the rush of wind between trees, squirrels chattering and the crickets buzzing in search for a mate. This was where he found peace. And with another puff from his cigarette, he dropped to the earth worn path to sit back and marvel at the beauty around him, supporting his weight on his palm, blissfully unaware he was nearly on top of the burn pile he created in his fit of rage only a few weeks ago. As fingers dug into the ash, they brushed against a gritty, glossy surface, pulling his attention downwards to a charred missing poster of a woman roughly his own age, lifting it from the ashes as he stared at the all too familiar smiling face he was too numb to mirror back. Suddenly, the world around him felt a little darker, whether it was the diminishing sun within the thicket of trees or sunken spirits reminding him of his loss, it was impossible to know, now drowning in the thoughts as the ciggie soon burned out to the filter, flicking it into the pile of burned memorabilia, unaware the sounds around him had stopped to be replaced by the rustling of bushes and brisk steps as he lit up another cigarette, hoping another rush of nicotine would distract him from the cursed thoughts plaguing his head and offer him another brief moment of relief.
