@nakamoto yuta "What? Dude no!" he laughed, shaking his head at Yuta's question as if it were just a silly question and not absolutely loaded. He took out a couple of eggs to crack into the pan, happy to be having the conversation with someone he could be playful with but now the question was in the back of his head, regardless of it being a joke and he couldn't say out loud that he even considered it just yet, nerves making him break the yolk twice before he slowed down.

"My bad, i'm making a mess." he didn't even mind the mess, already itching to get to the bottom of his own confused feelings. He stepped back to let Yuta handle the pan, crowding his space with his chin on his shoulder as he grumbled his own joke. "Would you call him if you were in my position?"

@mark lee sliding the onions into the pan was more of a mess than he anticipated, but he couldn't even keep his focus straight (nor the cutting board), as he tried to process what mark was saying. and more importantly, how to reply to it without sounding out of character.

"not the first time, huh..." yuta muttered, picking up the little pieces of onions next to the pan to toss them inside one by one. "are you gonna call him?" he couldn't help but joke again, indirectly maybe hoping, somewhere in the back of his head, that he planted a small seed in the younger's head.

@nakamoto yuta The joke was actually a fair truth because even now, much was going over his head as he let go of his breath, simply glad Yuta hadn’t or judged. He didn’t think any of his band mates would truly judge but there was an internal fear that he still couldn’t grasp and make any sense of if he was to be honest with himself- which he was not. He felt almost compelled to tell the story now, wanting to paint the picture to Yuta in a way that didn’t make him seem like he was absolutely freaking out about a minor exchange. “Man it might have gone over my head if not for the number he wrote on my receipt with his name and a winky face” his voice broke in the way it did when his ears were burning at the words coming out of his own mouth.

He was on autopilot as he worked around the older, attempting to keep his goofy demeanor up by pulling out said receipt and handing it to Yuta as if proof would be essential to the shock value. “I mean it’s not like I’ve never gotten hit on by a dude but this was just so… straightforward? I didn’t even know what to do so I just took it haha” and his expression said that he really believed that that was the reason he took it and nothing more complicated to process.

@mark lee with a swift throw the little bag of snacks landed on the wooden table so yuta's hands were free to help. he wasn't the best chef around, but he certainly knew a few things - or was convinced enough that he did. he gently swung into mark's side to wash his hands after the younger before reaching for the lowest cabinet to take out two green onions as requested. he listened in amusement to his bandmate's little ramble, like he always did, head nodding with a small "mh" from time to time to make sure he knew he was listening. however, his body froze mid-action, knife halfway through the onion, when mark brought up being hit on, and he had to lean forward with extra weight to try and get the vegetable cut all the way. "hit on? you? and it didn't go over your head?" the chuckle that followed after the attempted joke to keep the conversation lighthearted was forced and short, and yuta kept his focus on not slicing a finger off. "and... a guy??"

@nakamoto yuta Yuta's subtle clumsiness was always endearing to Mark because he always played it off coolly and Mark tried to imitate the behavior in his own day to day life to build confidence. He was like that with all of his hyungs, admiring them from day one. "Mm," he nodded, deciding cooking would be a good distraction for everything on his mind. He took the offer and swiftly brought the snack to his mouth before going to wash his hands to get started on prep. "Mannn it was one time- and I got that wallet back. No no not that" Knowing where everything was made it easy to start on rice at the least before gesturing the the bags on the counter. " Oh- I got some kimchi and a pack of sliced pork? Do you have green onions? We can make some quick fried rice or something... But uhh no, I got hit on. Like number and everything... But uhh by a guy" and for some reason, he waited for a laugh or a shocked expression.

@mark lee with his elbows on the table the japanese male stared in awe at the korean food, pinching some of the stuff between the wooden sticks try it. he would clearly never lose his clumsy side, as he picked the piece up that somehow managed to drop down from his chopsticks and onto the table, yet ate it like nothing happened. he hummed just as pleased, the excitement evident in his large orbs, especially when he teared the bag of green tea snacks open just to try one (or a few). "no i haven't yet, should we make it right now? 'cause otherwise i'm gonna inhale all of these," he said as a matter of fact, angling the opening of the snacks toward the younger in case he'd want one before he'd get started on them. "mh? you didn't forget your wallet again, did you?"

@nakamoto yuta The familiar greeting was something of a comfort, making him deflate just barely as he chewed his mouthful solemnly. He didn't even think about grabbing sushi but now he regretted not getting any as the craving set in. He hummed a no in reply and opened the rest of the package so that Yuta could take what he wanted. "Unless kimbap counts... this one is half crab meat and half bulgogi so technically-" not wanting to start up his normal ramblings about nonsense, he waved it off and gestured to the rest of the things he laid on the counter for the older. "They had those green tea snack cakes you like so I grabbed a bunch and some stuff to make dinner. Have you eaten?" Mark was aware that s were wary of his cooking which is why he always offered to buy the ingredients instead. "Man, you're not gonna believed what happened while I was checking out.." he figured he should just throw it out there, turning to lean against the counter as he pushed his hair away from his face.

@mark lee hearing the front door open wasn't something yuta wasn't used to; there were about two handfuls of people that knew the code to his apartment by now. sometimes he could even guess who it was by the heaviness of their footsteps before they revealed their identity with a greeting. but this time he didn't really get a chance to think, as his name was called by a certain voice he was all too familiar with. it had him jump to his feet in an instant and shuffle toward the kitchen with his feet only half in his slippers, stumbling clumsily (but hey what's new), bangs clipped back, and, of course, a tank top. his bare arms wrapped around the younger's upper body, momentarily trapping his biceps from behind as his own greeting, before he moved toward the cupboard to get two pairs of chopsticks. "what?" he wondered as he turned around to eye the food mark brought with him in awe. "sushi?"

Entering the code he'd already memorized into the front door to let himself in unthinkingly, he toed off his sneakers in a hurry and called out to the person he'd been in search of the moment he wrapped his brain around what had just happened to him not even half an hour ago. He was still in something of a tizzy as his thoughts jumbled and raced and wasn't even sure he'd be able to convey his thoughts coherently but he managed to get this far on autopilot and in search of a safe space, he found himself in Yuta's kitchen, emptying the contents of the plastic bag he had in his hand. As he laid out each item on the counter, he relived the situation that had happened at the same store he'd just come from and huffed a laugh at himself for being so thrown off by it, shaking his head as he kept his hands busy in order to not come off troubled. "Dude guess what they had at the market today?" he was already unwrapping the sealed kimbap to load into his mouth.
