@Taeyeon "Thanks," Amber said proudly. She carefully shut the door and slipped inside on the drivers' side, grinning from ear to ear; she revved the engine just to impress the younger- older? With Taeyeon, it was impossible to tell if she was young or old. She looked like she barely reached 5 feet- girl. Then she calmly drove along the streets she had known for, well, months now. Every shop, store, and office was familiar to the dork. She'd volunteer anywhere and everywhere she was needed without pay; though everyone had resisted and gave her money anyways. "It's just down this street. Do you know what I'm talking about?" She asked, stealing a glance to the girl beside her. Taeyeon. For some reason, it just made her extremely happy just to say that name. Amber felt giddy just looking at the girl, and it confused her quite a bit. "I hope so, anyways," Amber finished in a soft mumble, averting her eyes and turning back to the road. She hoped her cheeks weren't as red as she thought they were.
Taeyeon stumbled along behind the tomboy, carefully clutching onto her book bag as they left the library. Her eye slowly widened as she took notice of the car that the other had unlocked. It was a much nicer car than anything she'd ever seen; even when she lived in Seoul she'd never come across such a beautiful looking car. It felt weird to go in it at first; it didn't feel right because Taeyeon really had never been in a car this nice, much less with the city's cute librarian. None the less, the small girl shook her thoughts away and flashed the librarian and cheeky grin, carefully stepping into the car and setting her book bag on her lap. "Thank you very much! Nice car, by the way," she eye smiled, buckling up her seat belt.
@Taeyeon "Uh.. Yeah. Okay." The tomboy chuckled and swiftly followed the shorter girl, making sure to lock up the front doors as they left. Amber shuffled through her keys as she walked to unlock the doors to her 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder; something she had worked her off for, literally. She was proud of the sleek, black car- her pride and joy. Working for almost a year at multiple jobs in Unmyeong did have its perks. It had cost her almost everything, but hey, the car was gorgeous /and/ reliable. Jogging ahead of the small female, Amber carefully opened the door to the passenger side and held it open. She shot Taeyeon a wide grin as she waited for the girl to catch up and step into the car. "Ladies first," she said jokingly, a bit teasingly.
@Amber "The sound of pages turning?" Taeyeon mumbled to herself, swaying her head slightly as she imagined the sound in her head and really, it was peaceful and relaxing. The small girl quickly cleared to brush off her thoughts and smiled, shaking her head. "Oh no no, I came prepared!" She giggled, digging into her pocket to pull out a foldable fabric bag, carefully placing her books inside. Letting out a soft noise, she slowly picked up the book bag and grinned, making her way over to the door while motioning the librarian to follow behind her. "Let's get going, Amber!"
@Taeyeon "Yep," she chirped happily. "I love it here. It's always really warm and quiet. Nobody ever talks at all, so all I can hear is the sound of pages turning." The tomboy starts to ramble as she scans the books and the shorter girl's card. Amber glanced up a bit, sneaking a hidden glance to the girl in front of her, chuckling as she caught her eye. Flushing slightly, she turned away and typed something in on the library's computer. "We're all set~" She sang happily. "Nobody else is here, so I'll lock up." Amber snickered and twirled a set of keys around her finger. "Need any help with those?" She asked politely, nudging to Taeyeon's stack of books. Her own were already crammed tightly into her backpack, hanging over her shoulder. "I'll carry them if you'd like, Taeyeon-ah."
@Amber Taeyeon beamed when she saw the librarian in sight again, clearing a little and flashing her a cheeky grin. "Ah, you're all done I see," she commented, putting her stack of books down on the counter and reaching into her pocket for her wallet, fumbling with it before finally digging out her library card. Handing it over to the tomboy, she inspected the other stack of books, smiling to herself as she recognized some of the titles. "It must be nice to work here, it's always peaceful," Taeyeon mumbled, thinking aloud before turning to steal a glance at the librarian, proud of herself for having accepted the invitation for coffee.
@Taeyeon "Ah, okay." Amber nodded. She beamed to herself. She already had a bunch of books; did she really need more? Apparently so. She chuckled to herself. Taeyeon must've really loved reading. Just as Amber finished shelving the last book, she rolled up her sleeves. Here we go, she thought to herself, a bit dreadfully, as she jogged over to her own stack. The top book brushed against her forehead, and she huffed; it was, in fact, /very/ heavy. The tomboy wriggled through all of the aisles to get to the counter, flashing the short girl a smile.
"Here, just give me your library card," she said lowly. Her smile was unfaltering; another person who shared her love for books was amazing enough, the fact that Taeyeon was extremely cute and easy to talk to was only an added bonus in Amber's eyes. She never made the tomboy feel awkward or anything of the sorts. Amber was vaguely reminded of something; something she could almost remember, but slipped out of her grasp just as she was about to find it. Her thinking about it made her head throb with pain. "I'll check out your books for you."
@Amber "Mhm!" Taeyeon hummed and nodded cutely, taking a step back and watching the librarian continue to do stack the books. She bit back a small smile and clutched onto her books before whispering over to the tomboy again. "Hey Amber, I'm gonna grab another book or two while there's still time. Meet ya at the check out counter," she smiled and waved a little before disappearing from the aisle and running the next the one, hastily grabbing the nearest book and adding it to her stack. Making sure her hair was in place and that she looked proper, Taeyeon huffed, carefully making her way up to the checkout counter.
@Taeyeon "Really?" Amber asked in a hushed voice. She chuckled gently as the shorter girl placed her hand over . Pondering her words, the tomboy grinned her signature dorky grin before nodding. "That sounds cool.. Er, you might have to wait a few minutes, though. I've still got to stock these shelves and check out my own books." Amber felt herself staring at the shorter girl for a moment, before breaking into a dark blush and turning away. "A-Anyways.." She mumbled, turning away. Then she started to stack the last of her books hurriedly, stealing glances at the adorable little girl.
@Amber Taeyeon chuckled softly as she watched the tomboy rub her nape, slowly rubbing at one of her fore arms. She figured the librarian was just shy and so questioning her actions, even if it was just in a teasing manner, was not really called for. The small girl was about to say something when her train of thought was interrupted by the other's question. It took her a few moments to process what the librarian had asked before she broke out into a cheeky smile, nodding her head slightly. "I'd love to go for some coffee!" Taeyeon said almost too loud, covering and giggling a bit before leaning closer to the tomboy to whisper. "I'd love to go get coffee. There's a really great coffee shop down the street we can go to."
@Taeyeon Amber frowned. She watched, quite amused, as the shorter- and possibly younger- girl shift in her position awkwardly. Then she stared at the ground, humming softly; Amber rubbed her nape as she readjusted the shelf and took a step back. Had she done something wrong? Probably, considering how horrible she was when talking to people, women in particular. She never liked being touched by anybody, and was absolutely terrified whenever a man got close to her. Maybe she had offended the girl somehow. Clearing , Amber glanced to her wristwatch, then shot another small, dorky smile towards Taeyeon. She was starting to like her already. She liked books as much as Amber did, and the tomboy was willing to bet that she would be back soon. Pondering over this for a moment, the tall girl grinned to herself. She would look forward to volunteering again next week. Maybe even earlier, if she could.
"Taeyeon, my shift is almost over. Would you, er, like to go get some.. uh..Coffee!" She concluded. Then, she mentally kicked herself. Amber flushed awkwardly; the way she had said it sounded more of a demand than anything else. "Er. I mean, that is.. If you want to." The tomboy smiled sheepishly, rubbing her neck, shifting her weight onto her left foot, then right.
@Amber Taeyeon nodded and mentally sighed of relief when the tomboy said she hadn't scared her much. It wouldn't have left a good impression on the librarian to have given her a scare the first time they met, because considering the speed at which Taeyeon read books she'd probably be back checking in half of the stack she was holding next week.
Her eyes widened when she felt the book shelf move slightly under body, causing to take a small step forward. "Sorry. Again," she mumbled softly, reaching her free hand up to scratch the back of her head. She looked up and blinked slowly before finally realizing the position that she and librarian were in. She inspected the tomboy's face for a few seconds and blushed a deep shade of pink before looking down again, only humming in agreement.
@Taeyeon The tomboy chuckled in response. This girl couldn't have been older than seventeen. What was she doing with all those books? Amber nodded and replied with her dorky grin on her face, "You didn't scare me.. Much." Then, she turned away and continued to shelf the books with ease. She had checked most of them out herself, and hey, her photographic memory was both a curse and a blessing. "Careful," she warned, placing a hand on a fairly large book right above the shorter girl's head. Her casual leaning against the bookshelf had nearly caused the damn thing to fall over and topple on top of her. Amber winced at the thought.
"They almost fell on you," she hastily explained. In their current position, it looked as if the tomboy was pinning Taeyeon to the shelf or doing something incredibly naughty. The taller girl had caught on quickly and flushed a deep red, hoping she didn't look and sound as stupid as she felt.
@Amber "Ara, that's fine with me," the small girl grinned widely and nodded, blinking slowly at the tomboy's comment. Looking down, she noticed her stack of books, quickly picking them up and placing them back where they were, resting on her left arm. "Oh yep! These are all mine. I like reading," she mumbled shyly as she slightly leaned against the book shelf, stealing more glances at the cute librarian.
Taeyeon couldn't help but giggle when the other spoke, nodding profusely as she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and smiled. "Well, it's really nice to meet you, Amber. And again, sorry for scaring you."
@Taeyeon Amber nodded firmly. "Taeyeon," she said gently. "I'll call you that, ara?" The tomboy flashed her another, gentle smile before glancing to the girl's stack of books on the ground. She raised an eyebrow before chuckling gently. "Are those yours?" She asked, pointing to the thick novels with an amused, slightly teasing grin tugging on her lips. Then, she chuckled and rubbed the nape of her neck, shelving another one of her dusty books before speaking again.
@Amber "You're welcome, and that would be Taeyeon, but you can call me Tae for short, or Taengoo if you're looking for a nickname," Taeyeon grinned sheepishly, turning for a second to discretely bonk her forehead. She was bubbly, sure, but she wasn't always this talkative. Or was she being talkative at all? It was all a mystery in Taeyeon's head how every now and again she'd bump into someone who would make her nervous, the kind of nervous that made her grin and giggle and feel stomach drop and feel like every move she made was a bad one.
Slowly, she her heel to face the tomboy again, smiling just a bit before returning the question. "What about yours?"
@Taeyeon "T.. Thanks," Amber whispered back. She flashed a small smile, and blushed a bit herself. She was faintly aware that the stranger's hand had almost brushed against hers, and it sent shivers down her spine; pleasant, yet horrifying ones, the ones that scared her even more than she already felt around women. To most, Amber was just extremely awkward to talk to, but it was because they didn't know her phobia. Her heart pounding in her chest, Amber also turned back to her own bookshelf awkwardly.
Yes, the girl /was/ cute, in a innocent, childish way. As long as she didn't touch her, Amber had no problem talking to her. The tomboy wondered how old she was. Fourteen? Fifteen? Yeah, somewhere around there.
"W-what's your name?" She stuttered lightly, then cursed herself for doing so.
@Amber Taeyeon's eyes widened when she noticed the tomboy drop the book on her foot, gasping quietly before setting her stack of books down and waving her arms. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that! I'm really really sorry," she whispered, biting her lip before flashing an innocent grin at the librarian.
Kneeling down as well, Taeyeon reached for the book as well. blushing lightly when she'd noticed that the librarian had already gone for it. She stood straight again and rubbed at one of her own arms, letting out a soft giggle before turning back toward the book shelf, mumbling again. "Ah, so it was rapping. It.. It was really cute, actually."
@Taeyeon Amber jumped once she heard a bubbly voice speak to her. The tomboy yelped out of surprise and dropped a book- quite a heavy one- onto her poor, booted foot in the process. Hissing in pain, she clutched a hand over her heart and spun around to meet her eavesdropper. "You," she whisper-screamed. "What the hell are you doing? You scared the crap outta me!"
Amber huffed and glared at the intruder, pointing with her index finger. She was so caught up in her rapping, she didn't even see her; the short dork who was strolling along, seemingly looking for a book to read. Shaking her head, the taller of the two bent down to pick up her book. Finally, she settled for an answer, silently fuming. She grunted under her breath lowly, "It was rapping."
@Amber Taeyeon slowly made her through the aisles of the library, carefully eyeing book titles and occasionally adding one to the small stack she carried on her left arm. It wasn't very often that the small girl would find herself at the library, seeing as she owned many books herself, but on her days off she enjoyed to have a little bit of quiet time or maybe check out a book someone had recommended to her. Reading was one of her past times since, before making friends in this place, she really had nothing more to do.
Sighing softly, she took small steps into a long aisle where she figured she was bound to find something. She eyed a few books and stopped in place when she heard someone's voice, actually it sounded like some sort of singing Taeyeon couldn't make out.
Giggling softly, she made her way into aisle where the voice was, only to find what she described to herself as the cutest librarian she'd seen. Taeyeon shuffled past the tomboy and pretended to look at a few books before whispering, louder than usual, with a dorky grin, "Nice singing you got there. Or was it rapping?"
Amber gently placed a book onto the top shelf, then coughed when a large cloud of dust came back to hit her right in the face. Growling in irritation, the tomboy slipped off her glasses and wiped them clean. She wondered why she even decided to volunteer as a librarians' assistant anyways. Because I love books, of course, she thought, then smiled fondly. Reading was the thing that kept her occupied during her stay at that crazy-bin, and her therapist had told her that before her suppression, which she had affectionately dubbed her "past life", she had loved to read as well. The sound of pages rustling as they were flipped was calming.
So she continued doing her own little thing, humming her own little rap she had made up recently, as she ran her fingers gently over the books' spines, then carefully shuffling around to decide where they should go.
"Yeah, it must be burnin', cause I got you sweatin' in this weather, all them heads be turning~ You know I got it~" She rapped under her breath, sounding very similar to a dork. The tomboy never complained; she only sang when nobody was around. She never really liked her voice, but hey, rapping was one of the things she liked the modt. She squinted and readjusted her glasses at some of the labels. Her shift was almost over; how saddening. She would barely have time to even check out her own books.
@Chaerin Bom smiled, as Faith was one the phone. She was able to understand what the girl was saying, and was pretty surprised to know that she knew French as well. Bom knew it so well from training. "Yeah, I will." She said, taking the slip of paper from her. Her cheeks slightly turned red as Faith's lips came into contact with it. "Yeah, bye." She said, waving back, still very giddy inside.
@Chaerin Bom shook her head. "No, tomorrow night is perfect." She said, getting all giddy inside. "Oh, I would love to hear you sing sometime." She admitted, nodding her head.
@Chaerin "Well, uh..thank you." Bom shyly said, smiling to herself. "Then, I'll take you one day." She said, nodding her head. She was so glad that she finally got the chance to talk to Faith after all these years. "As in, you sing as well?"
@Chaerin "Really?" Bom asked, slightly blushing. She never knew Faith loved her singing. "My gallery? Well, be prepared to see a lot of pictures of myself." She admitted, laughing. "So, what do you do?"
@Chaerin "Actually, I left that life behind." Bom sadly admitted, nodding her head. "But hey, I took up photography so that's cool." She added. The only thing cool about that job was taking selcas with the great cameras they provide, the pay isn't that great for Bom, but luckily she had another job paying her a decent amount.
@Chaerin "Oh." Bom replied, not sure what to say at the sad news. "Oh, well...pretty good I guess." She answered, not really sure herself. "How about you?" She asked back, eager to know about the girl she once loved.
Feeling the blonde's arms wrap around Bom amazing her, especially since just a simple touch was what she yearned for. She smiled to herself and she hugged her back, enjoying this moment. "I used to live here, so I decided to come back." She replied. "How about you?" She asked back.
