@Yixing As Fei waited for his answer, a wave of guilt washed over her. Should she even be asking? It really wasn't in her place. Besides what if she triggered some type of painful memory for the other.. Though she couldn't help but wonder. Most people who stared at her while reading, were put off by her books. They thought she was weird. Why would she be so interested in the mental state of 'psychotic' people? And a brave few even told her several things to try and deter her. Things like: "You're much too pretty for this." "Instead of always reading you should go out and better yourself as a future wife." "What's so interesting about it anyway" But every time she just let those words come in through one ear and go right back out the other. She didn't just want to be a house wife, she couldn't be just that.
After what seemed like centuries of a pregnant silence, Fei got an answer. And it was very close to what she assumed. He was curious about why his father was that way. Just like Fei was curious about why whole groups of people were that way. She stared at him for a while. She was thrown off completely by the male. Not because of his curiosity though. But because of the smile that spread across his face. *That's a first.* She thought to herself. Most people would show some sign of anger, regret, or any other emotion besides sheepish happiness. It was odd. And it definitely made Fei 1000x more interested in him.
As soon as the other apologized, Fei shook her head. But it was only then that she realized he was speaking Chinese. Her eyes widened slightly from shock. It had been so long since she heard her native language. "It's fine really. I can understand why you were curious." She responded back in Chinese, and then gave an assuring smile. Another wave of silence came about, but this one was more comfortable. But then she momentarily froze.
Comfortable.
That's it. That's the feeling the male in front of her emulated. She was oddly comfortable around him. Because even though she was nice to everyone, she never really felt all that comfortable with them. But the smiling male in front of her made her feel just that. Her gaze traveled over his face slowly. Taking in the handsome features. Everything about him screamed the perfect guy next door. But as she stared into his eyes, it wasn't just his overly perfect features that got her. It was the need to know everything that was going on in his mind.
Her cheeks began to heat up from her unusually girl thoughts. And it was only then that she opened to speak once more. "You know I have a much better book on schizophrenia, it goes through all the stages and effects. This is only a brief explanation. You can borrow it!" She exclaimed, and then eyesmiled before standing up with her book in hand. "It's in my backpack though." She took a few steps and glanced back at him, motioning for him to come along. But then she realized something.
@Fei Bowing his head to the obviously older female, Yixing slumped back in his chair and felt himself almost become smaller in the woman's prescence. Well, he was like that with most people really, but this woman made him feel extra small, like a tiny little pea compared to a tall and beautiful sunflower. He wasn't scared of her, he just felt shyer and smaller in front of her, and felt like he had to make a good impression, or else she'd hate him like everyone else.
He was about to ask her if he could finish reading the page, but as the male heard the woman pronounce her name in such a familiar sounding voice, he looked up with wide eyes and a but of a shocked expression. Wang? She couldn't be Korean, since Wang was such a common Chinese surname. "W-Wang?" The male muttered to himself, furrowing his eyebrows and tilting is head to the side as he looked at the shape of the womans eyes.
Goodness she was beautiful. Her full lips that were light red and plump, her chocolate colored orbs that were big and innocent, which matched well with her overall seductive aura. As he heard her ask him a question about why he was intrested, he froze and got a bit pink in the face. How could he just tell her that his late father was schitzophrenic and he wanted to see if there was anything that caused his death? He didn't really want people knowing about the hell he went through; It was upsetting to some people and he didn't want people to worry about him. While his mind was running with lies to tell, he just simply blurted out the truth.
"A-I see..." He started nervously. "M-My father was schitzo...Schitz... That. B-But he passed away when I was young. I r-really wanted to know what could have lead to his death, a-and I thought this book would have some evidence of it." With red cheeks and wide eyes, the boy smiled at the woman, flashing her a toothy and innocent grin.
"I-I'm sorry..." He said in Chinese, before shaking his head and blushing even redder.
@Kyuhyun Sungmin smiled, "Thank you." He said taking a seat. He set his tray down and looked up. "I believe we haven't introduced ourselves," He began. "I'm Lee Sungmin, a new caretaker." He said introducing himself. He had felt more comfortable around new people after he Began to introduce himself, and knowing the others name, he felt a little closer to the people that way. He continued to give a warming smile hoping the other would feel more comfortable as well.
@Sungmin Just when Kyuhyun had begun to give up on seeing the boy again he appeared right in front of him. He looked up in slightly surprise and for the first time his eyes me the others. He couldn't help his mouth dropping slightly open at the sight.
He cleared his throat quickly before nodding once. As soon as he had nodded kyuhyun felt fear course throughout his body. His body had reacted on it's own. He moved up the table a little bit in order to give him more room before indicating with a hand for sungmin to sit down*
@Kyuhyun Sungmin looked at his book for a little bit while walking to the cafeteria, he was excited to read it. Walking into the cafeteria he grabbed himself a tray and put food on it. He looked around for a table and saw a familiar face sitting at a table all by them selves and started to walk towards them but stopped shortly after. 'Maybe I shouldn't disturb him..' He thought to himself, but it was already too late, Sungmin's feet had already began moving him to the table, he just had an instinct that always made him go for the quiet people. He wanted more people to like him and feel comfortable around him. "Mind if I sit here?" He asked the stranger, pointing to the seat.
@Sungmin Kyuhyun slowly made his way towards the cafeteria, he kept his head low and his eyes on the ground. He refused to make eye contact with anyone. As long as he wasn't looking at the them they wouldn't attempt to start conversations with him. He quickly gathered together the things he wanted to eat on a tray and found himself a table all the way in the back corner.
He picked at his food for while, and without realising he was doing it he kept glancing towards the entrance, silently hoping to see the boy he had just met in the library again. There was something about him that was different than everyone else. Kyuhyun couldn't figure out what it was.
@Kyuhyun Sungmin blinked for a moment, he noticed that the silence was beginning to become awkward and he wasn't able to handle things like this well, so he stood there for a moment. He heard the other say it was lunch time. "Oh." He said slightly without realizing it, he was expecting to be out of the library with a new boo in hand before this time came, he looked around for a moment as the other walked passed him. Quickly going to check out the book, he left so he could go get some food in his stomach,
@Sungmin Kyuhyun nodded, he cleared his throat awkwardly. He was unsure what to do. Was he supposed to say anything else to the stranger? He lifted his arm up and took a look at the watch around his wrist. He nodded before dropping his arm back down. "Lunch time.." He said softly, he considered asking the other to join him for lunch but decided that he was too afraid of his offer being rejected.
"I'm going to eat.." He simply said before stepping around the other and heading for the door.
@Kyuhyun Sungmin chuckled at the others noticeable shyness, "It is?" He asked taking a little more interest in it since someone else had the kind offer of showing it to him, something barely anyone ever does. "I'll check it out okay?" He said giving a smile to the other, holding the book in his hands.
@Yixing Listening to the male's explanation, Fei felt a wee bit of doubt rest in her. But from the rather innocent expression on the other's face, she decided to hold back the urge to tell him off for randomly taking a book that wasn't his. Although it was partly her fault for leaving it. So she let him slide. She snapped her fingers. "I knew it was somewhere around here." She muttered to herself, her first assumption had been that maybe a dog came by and tore it up. No matter how cliche it sounded, she had truly believed it for a few minutes. And she was prepared to give her professor that excuse if he asked why her work didn't have any citations.
Snapping out of her thoughts, Fei focused on the male once again. She slid the book to her, and was about to close it when she recognized what part he was reading. Schizophrenia. Her gaze shifted from the page to him, and then back to the page. Her train of thought began to pick up again as a million scenarios ran through her head. For a second she assumed that he was schizophrenic. Which is why he was reading up on it. But as she studied his posture a bit more she realized that wasn't it. So then maybe he knew someone who was schizophrenic? She raised an eyebrow slightly. She knew he couldn't merely just be interested in mental disorders unless he wanted to pursue it as a career. But she didn't want to pry, so she didn't ask.
With a small smile of satisfaction, Fei ran a hand through her hair. "Maybe I should write my name on it.." she trailed off, and then pulled out a permanent marker. At least with her name on it, if someone found it, they could possibly return it. She flipped to the front cover, though not before marking the male's spot. She then wrote her name in it as she said it aloud. "Wang Fei Fei."and just to be extra careful she added her phone number. She put the marker away and smiled at the newly written words. "There, now people will know it's mine." She said more of to herself.
Fei then flipped back to the page he had been on. Her eyes traveled over it. And finally her curiosity got the best of her. "If you don't mind me asking, does schizophrenia interest you?" She asked, and tilted her head. "It's okay if you don't want to answer. But I won't find you weird. If it helps, I have always been interested in manic depression." She then added in quickly.
@Fei "M-Miss Librarian," a red-cheeked Chinese male said in a quiet tone. "May I read here?"
It may have seemed silly for anyone to ask a librarian if they could read in their library, especially when they were a public library, open for all people to come and read, sometimes, if you were quiet, eat. But for Zhang Yixing asking polite questions if he could even be there were normal.
Seeing as the librarian pinched his cheek and nodded, he gave a full 90 degree bow and walked off to a table, one that was empty and by a window, where the sun shone through and made his naturally pale complextion look as if it were shining.
Cracking open the book he had found the other day, he flipped to a page titled 'Schitzophrenia.' He had heard about such an illness from his fathers doctors, and his father was actually a Paranoid Schitzophrenic. Wanting to learn about what caused his cruel fathers death, he read on within the pages.
It all began to make sense to Yixing. Why he was hit so often, why he was left malnourished as a baby, even why he didn't get enough food. It could have been the little 'voices' in his fathers head coaxing him to carry out such acts on a helpless boy. The Chinese male bit his lip as he read on, when he heard a noise echo in the near empty place.
"HA!" Someone scream.
The boy jumped, then resumed on reading, trying to look for something that would have been a cause of his fathers death. As he was reading however, he saw someones pretty, dainty looking hand grab the top of it, lowering it to reveal a stunningly beautiful woman, with long hazelnut-brown locks and prettily tanned skin.
Yixing felt a lump in his throat begin to form, and his cheeks reddened as such a stunning woman made eye contact with him. "O-Oh, this?" He asked, pointing to the book. "I-I found it in the cafeteria yesterday. I-I almost spilt my snake soup all over it!" He said with a nervous and cute laugh.
Fei had muttered to herself. Oh how she wished this was true. Because who really had $109 to spend on a new text book? Surely not her. She was broke. At least broke in her own words considering the fact that she was on a strict budget. But that goal she had set for herself seemed to be tumbling down. She had been searching for her textbook since she had left it somewhere yesterday. And the suspense was driving her insane. So much that she was even sure that she was gaining mild schizophrenia or the such, considering the fact she swore she 'found' it like 5 times. Where could it be? What if someone stole it? Who would even want a textbook? Sure, she was passionate about her major, but she was sure that there couldn't be another psychology student around.
With a depressing sigh, she trailed around the library, diligently looking for the book. She glanced up. *Fiction?! Why am I even in the fiction section?* She thought, mental punching herself. Surely, she had not misplaced the book in any of the shelves, especially not in the fiction section. It would take a complete idiot to do that. She huffed, and walked to a group of tables and chairs, plopping down in one. Her life was over. She was sure of it. And even though she wasn't typically dramatic, she sure did feel like she could be in some type of ABC drama right now. Her gaze slowly ventured from her lap, up to her surroundings, before locking on something in particular.
It was her book.
Though it was in the hands of a male who seemed to be reading it. Why would he even want to read a psychology book? It's not like it was some type of exciting tale. Fei quickly shook her head, and then rubbed her eyes. *Maybe..I'm imagining things.* she thought. After all, it wouldn't be the first time today she thought she saw it. She paused and closed her eyes for a few seconds before opening them again. It was still there. So it was her book.
She literally jumped up, letting out a satisfied, "HA!" But then quickly bowed apologetically as she was shushed. Fei bit here lip and strode over, sitting directly across from the male, her eyes locked on him. She stayed like that for a good few seconds before reaching out and slowly lowering the book so his gaze would be focused on her. Part of her just wanted to snatch the book and leave, but the more logical part decided to make sure. She tilted her head slightly and quietly - well more at a normal tone, asked, "Where exactly did you get that book? Because I lost one just like it yesterday."
@Sungmin Kyuhyun kept his gaze on the floor when the other thanked him. He couldn't bring himself to look at him. A sudden wave of shyness seemed to of taken over his body. He nodded quickly, his hands dropping to his side, the right one keeping a tight grip on his own book.
"I-it's my favourite," He responded in a timid voice.
@Kyuhyun Sungmin jumped back a little when he saw a book in front of his face, his hands slowly went to go grab the book and looked over at the other, noticing that he hadn't know the other or even seen him, "T-thanks." He stuttered giving a smile to the other, looking at the book examining it, "Seems interesting" he said nodding looking up at the other
@Sungmin In the silence of the library Kyuhyun heard the noise of someone entering. He rested a hand on the page of his book and lifted his head. Chewing his lower lip gently he looked around, trying to see who else had come in without moving from his spot. He sighed heavily before placing a marker, closing his book and rising to his feet.
He silently walked through the shelves before he found the new stranger. Kyuhyun stared for a moment before deciding that he didn't know this person and should go before they noticed him. He turned and was about to walk off when he heard the stranger whispering to himself. He raised an eyebrow before glancing up at what section they were in. A small smile formed on his lips before he walked closer.
He quickly pulled one of his favourite books off the shelf before moving closer and wordlessly holding it out in front of him towards the other male.
@Kyuhyun Sungmin walked into the library in search of a good book to read, fantasy being his favorite type. He searched the area and looked for a book that he hasn't already read and one that sounded interesting enough to keep him focused on reading the book, he scanned through the books picking out a few books reading the backs of them only to put them back, he let out a small sigh, "why do they not have any good books?" He whispered quietly to himself making sure that people couldn't hear him
Kyuhyun sighed heavily as he ventured into the quiet library. He gripped his old book tight in his hands and made his way into the far back corners so he could read in peace. His plans were to spend his entire day cooped up in the library with his current favourite book in his lap and pretend like he was somewhere else for the day.
Allowing a small smile to form on his lips Kyuhyun sat down in a corner leaning his back against the wall behind him. He bent his knees up in front of him and rested his book against them before opening it up to the page he had previously been on
ChanYeol nodded then giggled, "Of course you can. Ppany!!" He smiled when Tiffany called him by that name. ChanYeol then nodded and held his thumb up, "I will tell you if I get good grades!!"
@Chanyeol ((So sorry for the short and late reply!!!!))
Tiffany gave a small laughter at the younger male's support. Even though he was tall, he had a very kind and childish personality. "Thanks Yeollie.. I'm going to call you that! " she grinned as she thought the name fits well. "I'll support you then! So study hard okay~?"
@Tiffany ChanYeol did a little cheese smile at Tiffany, "Thank you Tiffany!" ChanYeol listened to Tiffany carefully and nodded, smiling and clapping his hands a little to her. "Oh, I'm so proud of you. I hope you choose well, whatever you do, I will be there to support you all the time." He said smiling and nodding happily. "If I get good results, I'm going to apply for a college." He said nodding.
@Chanyeol Tiffany blinked as Chanyeol held her hand. It was the first time someone stopped her from leaving. "O-okay.." Still dazed, she sat back down. "Tests? Nah I already graduated but I'm deciding whether or not I should apply for a college.." She gave a lopsided grin. Someone was actually 'worried' about her education...and it felt nice.
@Tiffany ChanYeol smiled, "Taking a nap?" He said laughing cutely. He stood up and held Tiffany's hand. "D-Don't leave, I finished writing all my notes...see." He said putting the 15 pages into his bag. "H-Hey don't you have any type of tests?" He said tilting his head a little, smiling softly. ChanYeol smiled at the thought that he made a new friend today.
@Chanyeol Tiffany laughed softly. "Study? No no..I was taking a nap!" She shook her hands. "I should be the one sorry for interrupting your studying. To be honest I'm kind of a loner!" She made a goofy face. But it was the truth, she really didn't have any close friends. It was tough since she was usually cold. But just today she wanted to meet someone and atleast know she had a 'friend'. She got up and bowed slightly. "I should leave seeing that you're busy! Good luck okay?" She grinned.
@Tiffany ChanYeol false smiled and nodded slowly. He sighed in an annoying way. "I-I just miss them. That's all." He said nodding, looking at Tiffany. ChanYeol smiled and nodded. "I will, Tiffany." He said showing a thumbs up with both hands. "Sorry, for annoying you in here. I know you wanted to study. I-I'll stop talking now." He said looking back at his revision book, sliding his hand on his forehead.
@Chanyeol Tiffany's smile disappeared for a second when she heard about Chanyeol's parents. She wanted to ask but it seemed wrong so she placed her small smile back on. "I'm glad you think so too." It was nice to see his tears disappear but she hoped it wasn't by force. "You know.." She pressed her lips I'm a straight line before finally deciding to say it. "I know we just kind of met but if you ever need someone...I'll be here okay.."
@Tiffany ChanYeol nodded whilst taking away his tears. "Y-Yeah. I was just remembering how my parents smacked me with the metal stick." he said putting his hand on his forehead. "You're right Tiffany noona. I should just forget what happened and stick to my new life." He said nodding. Hearing the fun tone of Tiffany's voice, he felt like he should do the same. "You too Tiffany noona." He said in his nicest tone.
