WELCOME
Hello everybody! On behalf of all the admins, I would just like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for joining this entertainment AU! As you can tell by the date on the front page of the layout, this roleplay has been in the works by our head admin for quite some time, and it’s truly amazing to see the support and growth that we’ve received so far. There are just a few points that we’re going to be going over in this first announcement, so please bear with us when it comes to the wall of text you’re about to encounter.
Firstly, we would like to welcome our newest admin totororo, who is Ten, Boa, and a few others you may see around here. We know that they’re going to do a great job in helping us run things smoothly, so don’t be afraid to go to them for some help as well!
Secondly, as you may or may not have noticed already, the layout has been updated in every room (minus most of the housing) to be more unique to the roleplay itself. While saorsa is not in this roleplay, don’t be afraid to go show her layout gallery a little bit of love now that we’ve settled on an aesthetic that helps to make this roleplay shine.
Additionally, just as a reminder to everybody, this company has not been around for too long (about three years). If you have trained for longer, than you will have come from a separate company. Also, trainees will not be receiving preferential treatment from staff members until they’ve proven themselves ready for debut.
Now, to welcome the trainees properly into STR Entertainment, we will be having a trainee exclusive sleepover in Dance Practice Room 2 from now until Tuesday! It will include some fun games and just getting to know each other!
Lastly, we are introducing the concept of fans, social media, and Dispatch to the roleplay! Fans are going to be crucial to the success of groups and soloists from this point on. The interaction between fan and idol can either make you or break you. Where the application so far has asked you to include a stage name if you have one, fans will be asked for their fansite name (if they run a fansite) so they can be proud about it. Fans can be casual listeners of SHOTDRUM, to knowing the name of Oasis’ manager, to even being a sasaeng (if you do a sasaeng plot, however, please get your chosen idol’s consent!) - we encourage you to get creative if you decide to have a fan!
Social media comes in the form of four rooms so far - Twitter, Instagram, SHOTDRUM Fancafe, and Oasis Fancafe. Twitter is going to be for fans and trainees mainly to scream at each other about comebacks, new videos, or just missing their idols. Instagram is where debuted idols and staff members can post pictures talking about updates on promotions, teasing new and exciting things, and just talking about their day, and fans are encouraged to interact with the posts that are in there. The SHOTDRUM and Oasis fancafes are for SHOTDRUM and Oasis members to interact with their fans, post pictures, and just have a good time (and when new groups debut, they will get a fancafe as well!).
Finally, Dispatch. Run by myself, the Dispatch account will be home to /all/ of the gossip you might see about your fav idols and sometimes even the trainees and staff! Have something that you think might be newsworthy? Send a PM to the Dispatch account - your news might just make it into Dispatch! When a new article is posted, everybody is highly encouraged to comment, upvote, or even downvote the news that’s being shared, and depending on the scandal, your fav idol might be ruined forever! This roleplay would not have been possible if it weren’t for the support of you all and our shared love for entertainment AUs and roleplaying.
Again, thank you so very much for enjoying this roleplay, and we invite your friends as well to join in on the party. If you have read this announcement, summarise one of the new features that we have (and give totororo a congrats for voluntarily surrendering themselves as a sacrifice for ritual!).
