✎ announcement
Hey guys. I'm going to start this by saying that I love each and every one of you, so it's disappointing and disheartening that this has ended up being the first announcement for this place.
A few things have been brought to my attention by multiple people. I'd firstly like to apologize to everyone for not noticing sooner, I can give many reasons, but there is no excuse at the end of the day. The biggest thing that has been brought to my attention is the concern of cliques within the roleplay. This is unacceptable in any capacity. This is supposed to be a safe and welcoming place for EVERYONE. Now, no names have been pointed out, which is part of why this general announcement is being made. If you feel guilty or otherwise feel some kind of way reading this announcement, I would take it as a sign to reevaluate your interactions with people. It's as simple as making sure you interact with everyone and stay inclusive. This wasn't a problem when we first opened, so the fact that it has become one is frustrating.
This leads to another issue that not only other people have brought to my attention, but I have witnessed myself, and that's bubble rping. It clearly states in rule six that any kind of chasing or bubble rping is not acceptable. If you're not sure what counts as bubble rping, it's only talking to your character's partner or select friends. It takes away from the inclusive atmosphere this roleplay is supposed to have. Now that's not to say I expect everyone to be all over each other and be the best friends with every single person, but I'm sure you all get my point. When people see others only talking to certain friends or only talking to their significant other, it can make them feel unwelcome, and that's not cool.
Another issue, albeit a little lesser occurring but still as significant, is the mixing of ic and ooc. Now, granted, I am fully aware and even guilty of a certain amount of mixing that's currently common in nonau rps in general, so that's not what I'm referring to. I'm referring to taking issues ic and making them ooc issues or vice versa. I'm talking about having ooc information and using it ic when it doesn't make sense for your character to know that information. At the end of the day, this is still a roleplay and meant to be a place for all of us to just have fun and enjoy ourselves.
All in all, let's get back to our roots, yeah? As I mentioned before, we didn't have these issues for the longest time, so I know we can get back to that if we all work together. I know it's easy to get comfortable with a certain group of people, and there's nothing wrong with that. The issue comes in when you stick to just that group of people. It makes people feel uncomfortable and unwelcome and like they can't be around. We've already lost quite a few people to this issue and perhaps it's selfish of me, but I don't want to lose any more. So let's all work hard to bring this back to the welcoming and inclusive place it's supposed to be okay? I really really don't have to receive any more complaints on this issue. But I'm asking every single one of you that if you see it still occurring (or any other issues for that matter) don't hesitate to let me know.
