[Because I seem to really like this pairing. No idea when it started or why, but eh. I'm not complaining.]
Jiho stares at his phone. Even if he doesn't want to seem obvious, he's clearly excitedly waiting for something. A text messgae. A phone call. Something. SOMETHING. ANYTHING.
He's startled when his phone suddenly rings, not even realizing that he didn't check to see who it was before answering, "What's going on? What's going on? Is everything okay? Anything at all?"
He ends staring into space as an automated voice speaks to him through the receiver. He feels tempted to crush his phone and slam it into the nearest wall but then how would he get any update?
Jiho swallows his nerves, almost quite literally choking on them, and ends the call. He gives up on staring at the phone, forcing himself to go to the kitchen to grab some water. He swears he's never been quite this on edge before and it's making his stomach knot up, painfully.
On his way back from the kitchen, he unintentionally drops the glass in his hand when he hears a key in the door. He quickly works to gather up the glass, blood not catching his attention until the last piece is in the trash. He forgot to use the mini-broom and dustpan. At least there's no blood on the floor. For the time being, he rinses his hands and just clutches a thankfully clean cloth between his hands as he goes to stand but the door.
She raises a brow when she enters, wondering why her boyfriend looks like a puppy that's been waiting for his owner all day. The thought kind of amuses her as the anaolgy has her imagining him with puppy ears and a tail.
"Hyuna," he whines and considers grabbing at her but stops himself.
Hyuna blinks and stares at his hands, "What the-- Jiho, what in the world happened to your hands!?"
Jiho looks down at the cloth and there's not a lot of blood, well, not too much. There's definitely enough to make it noticeable.
"Not important," he blurts out, "Where are the babies?"
"Right here," she laughs, gesturing to the two taupe Mumbellis on the floor at her side, "Don't touch those babies until we've gotten your hands clean and bandaged."
"But they're my babies, too," he frowns, actually pouting, looking like a little kid now more than a puppy.
"Jiho, go wash your hands. I'll wrap them up, okay?"
As he goes to wash his hands, Hyuna sets the carriers on the couch, keeping an eye on the babies. When Jiho finally comes back, he's got a new cloth on his hands and the first aid kit bundled between them. She sits on the floor with him in front of the couch, smiling to herself as he keeps looking at the twins while she makes sure his hands are properly cleaned and bandaged. Once the first aid kit is returned to it respectful place, Hyuna is sitting back on the floor across from Jiho, trying not to laugh at his expression. She takes the twins and helps to carefully set them in their father's hands, leaning in and kissing his forehead.
She sneaks a couple of pictures of him with the babies, saving it as her wallpaper on her phone. She ends up staring at the photo before just staring at her three loves sitting in front of her. Admittedly, she was utterly terrified when she first found out that she was pregnant, worried that Jiho would worry more about his own career than the family that they could be starting. Her eyes are then drawn to her engagement ring. His proposal was kind of stupid and terribly timed but what would a proper wedding proposal be if it wasn't memorable? Besides, how many can say that their significant other proposed to them while they were in the hospital and the day right after they'd given birth? Probably not many. She's sure there's someone somewhere that might have a similar story though.
Hyuna cups his cheeks with both of her hands, tugging him closer and meeting him halfway as she presses her lips to his. When the sweet kiss breaks, she drops one hand to her lap, the other cupping his cheek still and rubbing over it with her thumb. Jiho leans into her touch and closes his eyes for a moment. He's a dork but he's her dork and the thought just has her heart racing and butterflies settling in her stomach.
She can't remember a time when the world felt more perfect to her.
[two random side notes: I sneezed while writing this and I swear my eyesight like brightened for a second. It also woke me up for a bit. orz ...what was the other note? Oh, the mumbellis. Mumbellies? Anyway, those things. I saw them as a banner ad on here and was curious and clicked it and it seemed awesome and I've been wanting to write Zico and Hyuna for a bit and this actually wasn't exactly how I intended to write this but I think I'm pleased with how it turned out. ^^]
