Sometimes, life knocks you out. TKO. And for a second there, right after your head has hit the concrete floor and your heart is shattered in a million pieces, you decide to give up.
But the decision doesn’t make you feel better.
It doesn’t make you happy.
Giving up doesn’t give you freedom. Happiness.
Instead, it pulls you deeper into the black hole you’re falling down. You didn’t even know you could possibly fall any deeper. And yet, here you are. Being pulled down by your own decision.
It’s because you don’t want to give up. You want a new chapter to start. You don’t want your life to end, you just want it to change. But you’re afraid. Because change is unpredictable. And so you stand up, decide to change, only to return to your unfullfilling life right after. Until you’re down again. And the circle continues.
That’s not right.
You need to stand up and take the lead. Make the change. Be the change.
You need to show the people who keep pushing you down that you are capable of rising.
And once you rise, you’ll do so without them.
Because you’re a phoenix,
and they’re the ash.
