pft ignore the cheesy title. credits to sunshinesmile.

1. Is there a story you’re holding off for some reason?

yes! one i’m really wanting to write but it’s like,,, really hard to formulate because it’s based off of something irl but i don’t want to make it too similar and i feel like it’s kinda... dumb? my idea? i want to change the idea but i like it at the same time :E

  1. What works of yours, if any, are you most embarrassed about existing?

i believe most things exist for a reason. things like this, where you have your dumb stories or poorly drawn art, it’s the building blocks to something beautiful. i’m embarrassed of these but i will show them and talk about them. i hate reading them but i guess i’m not... angry that they exist? lol. i wrote a death the kid x reader that was HORRIBLE because it was so ooc and the plot was just all over the place and messy. ugh.

  1. what order do you write in?

front to back. i took a writing workshop once where the teacher said i could skip scenes if i can’t write them but i HATE doing that. i don’t know why.

  1. when asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people about what you write?

in a way, i can be embarrassed. my friends know i write legitimate stories, but i don’t tell people that i write primarily kpop fanfiction. i think it’s just because so many people make fun of fanfiction, and i can’t open up about it. there’s only two people maybe that know i write kpop fanfiction, but only one has read it.

  1. favourite genre to write?

i have been really liking the slice of life genre recently. i have been watching a lot of shoujo anime and playing otome games so i’m like ALL about that reverse harem life yaaas. i like dramatic plots. i also like romance a lot probs because i’m thoroughly deprived from it. however, a genre i love to explore in is sci-fi, and fantasy/dystopian.

  1. what, if anything, do you do for inspiration?

if i want to write a 1st person esque story, something like a journal or something, i usually read a book that’s in similarities to it. i don’t usually need inspiration for plot and characters, because that just pops from my mind somehow. but i do constantly need inspiration to write because i have a bad habit of writing two words and deleting them because they’re ugly.

  1. write in silence or with background noise? with people or alone?

if i’m writing something in prose, i like to be alone with instrumental/no words music or music with words i don’t understand. i cant concentrate on writing prose with people. poetry i like to write in silence with other people who are also writing. if i’m writing a play or something focused on dialogue, i hang out with my friends and listen to their conversations and how they speak.

  1. what aspect of your writing do you think has improved since you started writing?

definitely my plot structure. i read my old stuff and they literally make no sense. i also used to sort of copy a lot? like worlds, plots,  and characters would never be my own. but i’ve gotten better at actually being creative and creating my own stuff instead of heavily depending on someone else. it was never plagiarism i guess? but it was definitely not my own.

  1. do you make a playlist for your wips?

no, but if i’m writing something for a certain time period i’ll listen to things inspired or done then. i was writing a scene for my harry potter au fanfic and i listened to hufflepuff basement ambience.

  1. if you could give your fledgeling author self any advice, what would it be?

i’m gonna be honest and say that i really do believe that things like this happen for a reason. i think the only thing i would say is don’t be ashamed. if you love it, you love it.

  1. were there any works that affected you so much that it influenced your writing style? what were they?

definitely rick riordian’s heroes of olympus series. not the percy jackson ones, but the second series. i didn’t grow up with this series but i read it when i was seriously starting writing with fanfiction and you can see the similarities with how i write characters’ feelings and thoughts. i also think many fanfiction written by well established authors affected it a lot.

  1. when it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, ect.?

i use a padlet if it has difficult family tree or if it’s romantic/dramatic based and i want to look at relationships and such. i use basically an application form where it’s like name, age, occupation, personality, background, and etc. if races are involved (such as aliens or vampires or whatever) then i include that too. padlets i find useful for formulating plots and creating basic structure.

  1. have you ever become an expert on something you previously knew nothing about, in order to better a scene or a story ?

i know a lot about random greek myths thanks to rpr greek myth aus lmaoo. for one story i looked a lot into imperial korea and china because i wanted to make it authentic as possible for a fanfic. i also looked quickly into robotics and how ai can work and cyborgs can easily become a thing. same with prosthetic limbs and how another earth would have to look like. also a lot about criminology and bones.

anyways yea

this was kinda pretty long

oh well

good night tbh lmaooo
