They’ve actually tried doing away with the penny, and as time has gone on, colors have started to differentiate a lot of the dollars. Ones are just plain green, fives a more purple-green ( ew ?? ), tens are yellow, twenties are green and blue, fifties more pink and purple, and hundreds are blue b u t
there are still a lot of old

*coughs* I’m quite frugal with my money and even though some people have their own opinion that the penny is worthless, my dad taught me from a very young age that it’s not. Every penny counts. It’s valuable and may come in handy one day. But hey that’s just me and that’s how I was raised. Plus I have a bank full of pennies I collected when I was a kid and I still collect pennies so you can imagine how much I have saved up. Also where I’m from in the US, they have a machine in a local bank that when you put tons of pennies into it they translate how many dollars it would be. So if you put 100 pennies into the machine it gives you a dollar. Of course a dollar isn’t much or doesn’t seem like much but it goes a long way. Plus some pennies are supposed to be given away. My grandma taught me that a certain penny called a wheat coin that I don’t think the US Government even makes anymore and some people like my grandma, collects those pennies cause they’ll definitely be worth something someday. So actually no, a penny is not entirely worthless. Especially if you collect them. Also some schools around where I live have fundraisers where if you donate a good amount of pennies they’ll give you pasta from Olive Garden. So yeah pennies still hold a bit of relevance.
