jiyong remembers his family well - his mother, father, and older sister. they didn't grow up in a very big home in Seoul but it was home and they were happy. his family had always been close and loved each other very much. in jiyong's opinion, he didn't want or need for much if anything at all. 

through his grade school years, Jiyong had one main friend, Dong Youngbae. ever since they were very young kids, they got along and spent as much time as they could together. everyone believed they were joined at the hip.

just before the two started middle school, jiyong found out that he wouldn't be able to go to school with Youngbae anymore. he wasn't sure why but he knew that it was at the request of Youngbae's parents, so he didn't ask to know more than that. thankfully, Youngbae wasn't moving away or anything like that so they spent as much time together as they could after school, and with jiyong becoming more bullied and ridiculed and simply outcast at school, he began to rely and focus on the time that he could have with youngbae.

It was around jiyong's twelfth birthday when his life began to fall apart, slowly and painfully. returning home from school, Jiyong was greeted with a wrecked home. he had figured that maybe it was nothing more than a break-in and robbery but the cries of his family as they pleaded for their lives gave him second thoughts. jiyong tried to intervene as his parents were the first victims, slaughtered right before his eyes, their last words to their kids being that they loved them and always would. jiyong and his sister clung to each other, trying to escape but their efforts were futile. jiyong did the best that he could to protect his sister but ended up being blinded by some bright light that stopped him.  jiyong only managed to survive thanks to Youngbae making an appearance, although Jiyong can't remember much of what happened after he was separated from his sister.

after that day though, jiyong's eyesight began to deteriorate as well as his hearing and with no family to take care of him, he found himself relying even more on Youngbae, not that the other minded. Youngbae's family was more than willing to take Jiyong in and help take care of him. that was the beginning of jiyong literally becoming a royal pet.

by his twenty-first birthday, jiyong had caught on to what Youngbae had been all along - a vampire. as with vampire royalty, it took three bites to turn a human, each bite involving the human consuming some amount of the royal's blood. by his twenty-first birthday, jiyong was aware that it was the third bite. after questioning if Youngbae wanted him around forever - with youngbae not even hesitating to answer "yes," Jiyong was turned. the transformation ended up healing and restoring his hearing and sight, albeit through a slow process.

even now, jiyong still lives his life under Youngbae's care, living on his own but something like a pet. he's very dependent and reliant on Youngbae and will do anything to protect his friend of and for eternity.

jiyong had been made to believe that he was destined to forever be alone. after all, without Youngbae, he wouldn't even have a friend. that being said, love isn't something that he believes in. he doesn't believe that he will ever be loved in a romantic sense and doesn't trust or believe anyone to take care of him as Youngbae does.

thanks to jiyong having become impaired when he was younger, having lost most of his sight and almost all of his hearing before he was even eighteen, he learned to become an extreme introvert; it's something that's carried into his vampire life, even though his senses are back to normal.

he's soft-spoken and caring, artistic and insightful. he's also a terrible cook and can barely take care of himself most of the time. he's surprisingly powerful, at least that's what youngbae tells him, but he doesn't believe it and has never made an attempt to explore his powers as a vampire either.

he can go out into the sunlight if he's had enough blood to drink but he never seems to drink enough, and never has, so Youngbae almost never allows him outside without some sort of supervision.

royal wedding (Version a)

the vampire prince, Youngbae, is getting married to hyorin and although jiyong doesn't mind, as he likes hyorin and that she makes his best friend happy, he still can't help but feel lonely. you meet him at the wedding in one way or another and you can tell that he's sad, even though it's such a happy occasion. you make the attempt to talk to him and cheer him up.

babysitter

jiyong is nothing more than a little kid in your eyes, regardless of how much power he may have and how much favor he has from the prince. vampire or not, kwon jiyong is a child. to make it worse, you've been requested directly by Youngbae to babysit jiyong while he (Youngbae) is away for a couple of weeks. you find this as a chance to let anything happen to Jiyong, thinking that it would be perfectly fine if he just got hurt or disappeared while Youngbae was away, even if you would have to come up with some explanation for when the prince returned. Will you stick to that plan or will being left alone with Jiyong help you realize why Youngbae keeps such a close on eye on Jiyong and soften your heart?

double take

you're one of Jiyong's relatives and you've just heard about what happened to him and his family. as far as the rest of the world knows, they're all dead but you remember what he looked like the last time you saw him and you're pretty sure that the man you've recently come across is him, just older, of course. he has what seems to be guards around him. will you still make your approach or will you wait until you can get him alone to see if he's really the man that you think he is?

broken reflection

your story is similar to Jiyong's in one way or another, or multiple ways. regardless of what you are (Human, vampire, other), you two meet and vaguely get to know each other. you want to see him again even though he's clearly very introverted. it's almost like you're complete opposites and that's what really draws you in. will you make that effort to get him or will you let him keep slipping through your fingers?
