Recently, there have been several blog posts about people using Shinee’s Jonghyun as a muse in roleplays. These blog posts have expressed a clear distaste for this practice as the people making the blog posts find this disrespectful.
We want to start by saying that there are no rules on RPR that states it is not okay to use a deceased person as a face claim.
However, with that being said, the moderator team agrees that this practice is distasteful and could cause offense and hurt to other roleplayers. Ultimately, it falls to the admin of the individual roleplay to decide whether they will allow users to roleplay as someone who has passed away.
We do encourage people to always be courteous to other users, which includes considering whether your roleplaying of certain idols is disrespectful. Discussing such issues are, of course, allowed, but once again, we encourage and remind people to be respectful to other users and express your opinions in a decent way without using profanity or stooping to personal attacks. It is understandable that this specific topic involves a lot of emotions, but bullying and treating others with disrespect is never okay.
