So it's been a long time since I've made an rp since Hanamachi, and I'm a bit torn between two ideas. Do help me choose! I've settled on a royalty + fantasy au, but I'm not sure where/what theme I want.
- Arthurian/Steampunk: This will deal with English medieval royalty. With knights, king and queen, princes and princesses, sorcerers, the works. there'll also be the option to apply as a commoner. i'd want the rp to be structured in a way where everyone can be immersed in their various roles. this one may be more progressive in terms of events/conflicts. A Midsummer festival here, a plot to assassinate the king there.
- Japanese: The only other historical period I'm familiar with is that of the Sengoku Jidai/warring states era, where samurai and youkai and all of that good stuff was said to run rampant. In this, I'd probably focus more on lords and their houses, which consists of servants and soldiers and koto/shamisen players and of course - their family. I'd still have a festival event, but it'd probably be less focused on good harvests and dancing round a bonfire and more on good food, elegant tea sipping and blossom viewing. There can be conflict between the various houses, kind of forbidden interaction (because I still want everyone to have a common place to chat), d r a m a. I'm thinking the races here will be intermingled. So you can have a human lord here, a nine-tailed fox lord there - you get the picture. Because of the period it's in, I think things will have the potential to get violent. But that's of course up to the participants! + It won't be /Japan/-based because I enjoy a variety of faceclaims, but more in a land that's Japanese-inspired.
Thank you!
