PLOTS alphabetically ordered
My personal favourite plots have been highlighted yellow for your reference. Note that any plots that are written in light grey are taken by another applicant. Also, I am perfectly okay with coming up with a new plot entirely from scratch if none of these tickle your fancy! I have no limits when it comes to genres so don't be afraid to ask.
Plot A: Comedy, Supernatural, Romance, Slight-angst
Muse A is a grim reaper tasked with the job to collect Muse B's soul. But there is a catch - no matter what lengths they go to to influence the forces of nature and take Muse B's life, nothing works! Muse B just won't stay dead, and it's beginning to look like Muse A's employeer - the Lord of the Underworld himself - is not pleased with the amount of time it is taking to complete their assigned task.
Plot B: School, Comedy, Romance, Fluff, Supernatural, Light-hearted
Muse A is hardly a savant in the field of romance, never once finding the resolve to ask a boy out on a date. In addition, any boy who has ever attempted to ask her out has been sharply refused due to Muse A's fear of the opposite , as well as her uncertainty about love and dating. This is where Muse B comes in, a stranger who wanders onto school grounds in a disheveled state, seemingly confused about their whereabouts. Later this unusual male transfers to Muse A's class and is discovered to - when properly dressed - be unfathomably handsome. It doesn't take long for Muse B to become the talk of the school, the mystery and otherwordly charm that surrounds him alluring the female cohort. Including Muse A, well, not really. But Muse A's friends have tasked her with the dare to ask Muse B on a date - something she is very much against the idea of, but does so anyway to try and push past her phobia of men. When Muse B unexpectedly accepts and the pair are now set to go on an afternoon date it will soon be uncovered that the mysterious transfer student is in fact from another planet.
Plot C: Comedy, Drama, Slice-of-life, Romance
Muse A is an internationally adored idol whose lousy memory results in them sending the wrong person their nudes. Muse B is the recipient of these rather shocking images, but is otherwise a complete stranger. But what they do know is that the person in the photos is the same idol their younger sibling often excitably rambles about. Panicked, once they realise they've sent the photos to the wrong number Muse A seeks out redemption by offering anything to keep Muse B quiet. Muse B's family just so happens to be on the verge of eviction from their home so in a spur of the moment decision they request to be hired to work under Muse A's name to be able to keep their family's income afloat.
Plot D: School, Supernatural, Comedy, Drama, Angst, Romance
The one thing Muse A hates more than their innate ability to see the dead is Muse B. Sure, seeing ghosts might sound cool in theory but Muse A has come to learn it often leads to uncomfortable situations where people catch you seemingly talking to thin air and thinking you're insane. Then there is the malicious sort of ghosts that are honestly just a hassle to deal with. Muse B is a completely different story — on an entirely new level of hatred, and it has been this way for as long as a Muse A can remember. But don't worry — the hatred is mutual. One day, when Muse A is subjugated to more of Muse B's annoying smack talk they finally decide to retaliate, throwing insults back. But in the midst of their quarrel Muse A is approached by a faculty member, asking them in a concerned tone who they are talking to. This is when both parties become aware of the dreaded fact: Muse B is dead and Muse A is the only person who can see them.
Plot E: Work, Romance, Fluff, Slice-of-life
Muse A has been Muse B's boss for the past four years. Muse A is notorious for being blunt, rude and overly-harsh, in particular towards Muse B. Due to unforeseen circumstances however, the company they are employeed under goes bankrupt - forcing employees to seek jobs elsewhere. For Muse B they couldn't be happier since they are finally able to escape their cruel boss that more than likely hates their guts. Deciding that a fresh start would be for the best Muse B moves cities to find work, and after a few months is hired at a quaint bakery - definitely something completely different to her former office job. But on the day of her first shift Muse B is horrified to discover that one of her co-workers is none other than her former boss, Muse A. Though hating this turn of events through working side by side in this new environment Muse B comes to discover the surprising reality about Muse A ... that in fact their cruel words and cold attitude is just due to their inexperience with socialising, not knowing what to say or do in certain situations. So Muse B's former boss who she was convinced hated her just turns out to be incredibly socially awkward.
Plot F: Fluff, Fantasy, Comedy, Light-hearted, Romance, School, Angst
Muse A and her friends always walk the same way home after school. And for about as long as they have taken that route they have crossed paths with a certain stray dog. The canine has become familiar with the students and will greet them ethusiastically each day, but seems to show particular affections toward Muse A. One day in winter Muse A decides to confess to her long-time crush - only to be turned down despite how she was confident they were giving signs of their mutual feelings. Downtrodden Muse A walks home alone that evening and when approached once more by the familiar pup proceeds to let out all her emotions to the canine. How the dog wished it could cheer her up more ... because seeing the girl it cherished like an owner being so upset made the stray dog distressed. It is this genuine wish that is heard by higher powers granting the dog human form later that night - now becoming Muse B. And what is the first thing that Muse B does on the morning of his first day as human? Seek out Muse A.
Plot G: Work, Romance, Slice-of-life, Angst, Fluff
Muse A is the older sister type, and particularly loves to monopolise and tease Muse B. Muse B is a younger co-worker of Muse A's and has had unspoken (but obvious) affection for her ever since their induction into the same company a few years prior. Inexperienced and clumsy when expressing their feelings Muse B has never gotten the chance to announce how they seriously feel about Muse A, so the teasing continues until the day Muse A suddenly starts dating an older man from a different firm. While they are still moping over the news Muse B is propositioned with the task of babysitting Muse A's pet while she goes on a date night with her new partner, something they begrudgingly agree to do. But somehow this one favour turns into a regular occurence, and suddenly Muse B is at Muse A's house every weekend as appointed pet-sitter.
Plot H: Royalty, Romance, Slice-of-life
Muse A is a lord of a foreign country and Muse B is a free-spirited college student who just so happens to be touring the country with a group of their college peers. After a night of one too many drinks, an intoxicated Muse B is stumbly the streets of an unknown neighbourhood, thankfully to be spotted by Muse A and escorted to a hotel. That night Muse A discovers just how poorly they handle someone like Muse B, the complete opposite of them. But by morning Muse B is officially hooked on the idea of letting Muse A have a little bit of fun while they can, making for one thrilling month of mayhem for the uptight royal.
Plot I: Romance, Steampunk, Historical, Drama
This is the future, and Muse A is the daughter of a self-titled inventor. When Muse A's parent insists they trial their new time-jump machine Muse is compliant, only since it had been guarenteed the machine would not malfunction. But one accidental dump to the table sends a glass of soda spilling across the machine's controls, leading to a reaction that sends Muse A - without any way back home - to the industrial age. Here Muse A is dropped into the store of a humble clockmaker; which happens to be Muse B.
Plot J: Light-hearted, Fantasy, Romance, Fluff, Drama
Muse A is a wandering warlock, cast from his hold when he was discovered to have been performing necromancy. Meanwhile, Muse B has always lived out in the wilderness, a stray hybrid, whose talents fall in the area of hunting and catching prey. Mistaken for lively game, one afternoon Muse A is pounced on by the raveneous Muse B who soon realises her grave mistake. To earn Muse A's forgiveness Muse B decides to tag along with the warlocks travels, aiding him in any way she can. Henceforth, a not so dynamic duo is born that day.
Plot K: Apocalypse, Drama, Slight-comedy, Fluff
Muse A is a lone survivor in a post-apocalyptic world, and Muse B is one of the thousands of monsters that plague the earth - strictly speaking, they're a zombie. But unlike the familiar walking dead from comics and film, these creatures are a lot more human; fast, agile, capable of limited speech and thought, but most importantly not dead, just infected. But for as human as they are a zombie is still a zombie, and they still crave human flesh. So naturally, the first time Muse B meets Muse A they are looking like a tasty snack, that is until their more human side starts telling Muse B that they think Muse A isn't just delicious looking, but kinda cute too. This is essentially how the lone Muse A ends up getting a zombie follower that they didn't ask for.
Plot L: Dark, Drama, Slice-of-life, Angst, Romance
Muse A just got their big break in show business and now they're the hottest talk of the town as a rising new talent. But along with their growing fame Muse A earns the love of troubled folk, which perfectly describes Muse B. Without a stable income and soon to be evicted from their home, Muse B is being tormented by life, and this has been going on for years, slowly chipping away at Muse B's mental stability. That is until they witness Muse A broadcast on local daytime TV and admiration blossoms for the star, but very quickly this admiration turns to obession as Muse B raves that Muse A is the only person who can make them feel whole - and that they will do anything to be with them. The exact extent of Muse B's obsessions lead them down a rabbit-hole of auditioning for small acting roles, sometimes for shady or illegitamate companies, just to get a little bit clsoer to the world that Muse A lives in... and scarily enough, Muse B's plan actually works.
Plot M: War, Drama, Romance, Angst
Muse A and his squadron land in enemy territory and make camp for the night, as leading lieutenant colonel Muse A has to ensure his men are safe throughout the night and for the many battles to come. As they push forward, invading and conquering enemy lines, the odds are looking like they are in their favour. But a sudden nighttime attack leaves only half the squadron alive, and Muse A (who is actively being pursued by a team of enemy soldiers) to flee. Taking refuge in what he thinks is an abandoned cabin, Muse A discovers a frightened and weak Muse B. To make matters more complicated they are of the enemy's race, but still, a harmless civilian. But choosing to honour his morality, Muse A doesn't harm Muse B, in fact he offers food and water to the shivering woman and her crying baby. Although there is a language barrier between the two of them, circumstances considered, they stay together, Muse A pledging to keep Muse B and her child safe. But with a war happening around them bunkering down is going to be a lot harder than one might think.
Plot N: Supernatural, Comedy, Fluff
Muse A is a vegetarian vampire, something that proves to be difficult when afflicted with cravings for human blood. Then comes Muse B, a fanatic of the strange and supernatural with hopes to one day capture and study a real vampire. Low and behold one evening Muse A wanders straight into one of Muse B's elaborate traps. So now Muse B has a real vampire in tow but when they want to see the vamp feed they are sorely disappointed to discover just how not intimidating and meek this 'creature of the night' actually is. But thrown out of his own family crypt Muse A has nowhere else to go and so is indoctrinated into Muse B's schemes to find and capture more supernatural beasts.
Plot O: Western, Historical, Drama, Action, Romance, Comedy
Muse A owns a saloon and is unexpectedly great at handling firearms, and Muse B is the town's sheriff who cowers under pressure and can't stand up to thugs and fugitives. Elected under the precedent that they will be a sheriff just like their father, the newly indoctrinated Muse B has to show the town that somehow he can live up to their expectations. Enter a suggestion from a local shopkeeper - telling Muse B that: in order to prove their worth they should track down the most wanted felon in the land, a lone gunman who has performed many bank heists and murders over the past several months. A reluctant Muse B accepts, but later finds himself downing pints of beer at the saloon to abate their worries about how to handle going after such a criminal. In his drunken stupor the sheriff knocks into one of the town's infamously volatile patrons, a stocky man with huge biceps and missing teeth. The guy, even to the sheriff, threatens Muse B. Afraid and weary Muse B tries to talk him down but the man still takes a swing, only to be intercepted by the fast-moving Muse A. Seeing how easily they the man out (forcing him into a chokehold), suddenly Muse B knows exactly what to do and the next day will go and beg Muse A to work alongside him to catch this dreaded criminal.
Plot P: Supernatural, Romance, Slight-
Muse A was abandoned at birth and instead raised by wolves. But not just any wolves - werewolves, and Muse B is just a pup when Muse A is brought into their family, something that will take Muse B several years to come to terms with. For the longest time Muse B wonders what their mother must have been thinking to introduce a human into their pack, a human that - unlike them - has no claws, fangs, or superb sense of smell. But as they grow older together Muse B uncovers something awful... seeing Muse A bathing in the creek - something they have witnessed all their life, even something they did together as children - now makes Muse B unimaginably .
