@〄 Oh Sehun ☘1 He can say that he's lucky that morning when Sehun ends up going with him to the field without letting out a single sleepy grumble or whine. The other being the nocturnal one between the two would always spend more time outside or working during nighttime. At one point, Chanyeol himself wonders whether the other also sleeps in this pattern in the real world. They need to work on a few things — Sehun couldn't possibly be sleeping throughout the day and staying awake until the dusk of dawn.
But surely, Sehun doesn't mind being pulled out of bed first thing in the morning. Not after receiving the praises for the farmers, especially for doing this well in his first fieldwork. Chanyeol couldn't even be more proud of Sehun. He has been smiling throughout the morning, the corners of his lips reaching his ears. It doesn't seem like it would wither anytime soon when he feels the pat to his bums and the peck stolen from his lips. Ladies, Chanyeol thinks to himself when the women on the fields start to burst into their usual squeals and chatters. One even walks over to him and sends a slap across his shoulder for bringing romance into work. His cheeks start to hurt, and he wonders if they could escape this situation. Chanyeol brings a hand and presses it over his lips before he throws a glare at Sehun. His gaze softens when he spots the crinkles of Sehun's eyes and a peal of genuine laughter spilling out from the panther's lips.
It has been a week ever since the blessing ritual, and sure enough, here Sehun is with him. They slowly ease into the elves community, and Sehun is accepted as one of theirs. It is not uncommon for elves to be linked, romantically, or not with other races. But they never really spoke about it after that night, as if they understand each other's roles in the relationship — if there is even one, to begin with. Chanyeol is happy enough that Sehun has stayed for him, and maybe asking for more is going to overthrow his luck. Chanyeol takes a few steps closer to Sehun, reaching out to hold the other's hand. "Should we take a break? I prepared some sandwiches for us."
@❧ Min Yoongi As soon as the man takes his hand, Sungkyu start walking further towards the left as he makes sure to mask their smells and the man magic trace.
"You can take it as much as you needed. It's just herbs that can help you recuperate faster." He shrugged as he answered.
"I know they're getting closer. But we will be okay. There's an underground stone cave near here. It's connected with a cave in the forest. The cave itself have some magic power and no one will find it unless they know where it is." He explained as fastened his pace.
"We will be safe there for awhile at least." He added while reaching into his pouch again; pulling out a stone before throwing it somewhere behind them then keep walking further.
"That'll slow them down for a bit. I guess. We are in eastern side of the barend land in human land. I'm Sungkyu. And we are here." He said while grinning. In front of them was a stone way more bigger than before.
He touched the stone; making some intricate pattern with his finger on the stone surface. A hissing sound was heard as the stone moved itself, showing an entrance of the cave.
"Let's go!" He pulled the man down and entering the cave.
@❖ Kim Sunggyu Yoongi had expected the man to do everything but not that the other was offering him help. Usually he was the one offering help so this surprised him. Blinking at the man for a few moments he hesitated before he nodded, taking the herb vial. "Do I drink the entire thing?" he asked, still a bit wary. After all he really did not want to die. Chewing on his bottom lip he sighed before taking a sip from his bottom lip. He was out of breath and if those people still kept hunting them, then he definitely needed more stamina. He was fast, yes, but only as fast as his small legs took him.
"A place where we can hide?" Curiously he looked at the other and nodded then, his lips. He looked at the other man's hand and then took it, this time not as hesitant as before. He had not many choices - of course he could see the other male's doubt and disbelief but he also knew taking the guy with him had saved him too.
"I'm Yoongi," he then said and his lips, looking around. He could hear them again and he just hoped they would make it out in time. "They are getting closer," he mumbled and held onto the man, moving with him by his side. He was not a good fighter - were guardians ever meant to fight properly? Yoongi was not too sure about that. Though he himself at least was not a good fighter. "Let's just get away, right?"
Taking in some air his lungs hurt less and he felt like he could go and run another marathon like he had done before. They would see if they really needed that. "Honestly, I have no idea where we are," he then admitted slowly, looking around. Somewhere further away from his own home.
@❧ Park Chanyeol It’s too early in the morning for Sehun to even register when Chanyeol sneaks out of bed, barely responds when the other shakes him awake some time later and manages to coax him out of bed. He doesn’t complain, not really, because he’s too tired to form complete sentences and gets ready while in some hazy state where he’s not quite sure whether he’s awake or if he’s actually still asleep. Mornings don’t make sense to him, he’s more nocturnal than the elf and would probably go to bed around this time if Chanyeol hadn’t so much as forced him into bed the night before.
He is thankful though that the other has arranged this whole day for them; for him. He’d been wanting to give farming a shot, but what stopped him from pursuing was the fact that he would be forced to interact with the villagers and farmers, so he always put it on hold for a little longer. Once they get to the fields the morning air is crispy and the sun is shyly greeting them from the horizon and Sehun is still rubbing the reminiscence of sleep from the corners of his eyes, stood quietly a little off to the side behind Chanyeol while the farmers explain and dutifully shows them around. But he does wake up soon enough once they get to work. Turns out Sehun isn’t all that great at this whole farming thing at first, clumsy with the equipment and keeps forgetting what he’s supposed to do. Until one of the older men laughs and takes pity on him; they end up working together side by side after that, keeping light conversation while the man guides him through the steps. In the end it’s actually not that hard once you get the hang of things, the workload is heavier than what he’d been expecting, but it feels good being outside.
Perhaps it’s this, the fields spread out around them, that’s the pride of nature, the simple scene of flora and fauna. When Chanyeol turns up by his side Sehun’s heart already feels lighter in his chest and he smiles towards the other, chuckling softly at the comment that follows. “Nonsense.” The shifter didn’t expect them to accept him so easily, but the farmers trusts him simply because Chanyeol does. After tucking the last few seeds into the soil Sehun pats the ground twice for good luck and straightens, wiping the sweat from his brow before he steals a quick kiss from said guardian, patting his bum while muttering a soft “thank you”. The man that’s been helping him all day looks amused when he clears his throat obnoxiously loud behind them, it’s enough for Sehun spring away with awkward laughter falling from his lips and with a sheepish smile directed at Chanyeol.
Seungmin followed the elderly human across the fields, listening to and observing the farming tasks of the quest he had been given to do. The glint in the elder’s eyes showed that the other had most definitely seen through his hunter disguise but was nice enough to keep the shifter’s secret as long as he helped around the fields. Seemingly all easy tasks, Seungmin agreed with nothing else better to do anyway. Plus, improving his farming skill and the promise of food and ingredients was an offer he definitely would not pass up.
What Seungmin originally thought were easy tasks, ended up taking the entire day. Sweat dripped from his temples under the harsh rays of the setting sun as he carried the last bucket of milk into the elderly’s house. He didn’t realize just how many cows there were in this field that supplied the human village with fresh milk until he lost count at the number of cows he had to milk. For his efforts, the elder kindly gave him a bottle of milk to take on his travels, including a sack of rice for watering the rice field and beef meat as something extra for spending some time helping around the house as well even though the elder didn’t ask him too.
Having a productive day on human land, Seungmin might just come back to the fields in the near future if the elder allowed him.
FARMER BOY ACHIEVEMENT TASK
Xiao Zhan scrolled through the different tasks that he could achieve when he came across one that seemed to have caught his attention. "Farmer Boy?" he asked to no one in particular and smiled slightly. It was a simple task enough. Of course though, Xiao Zhan looked down at his all black outfit and let out a sigh. Not many farmers would probably appreciate the help from a demon servant. The tattoo that was marked on him when he became a servant was hidden underneath robes, but with one glance, someone could easily come to the conclusion that he-
"Um … mister?" Xiao Zhan snapped out of thought and turned to face a little boy. The boy couldn't have been but six or seven years old. "Are you lost?" he asked Xiao Zhan and immediately, Xiao Zhan replied with the shake of his head. The boy eyed him from head to toe then smiled and surprisingly took Xiao Zhan's hand into his smaller ones. "Then you must be here to help, right?!" he asked excitingly.
"H-huh?" Xiao Zhan was a little taken aback but he slowly nodded his head. "Y-yeah … that's right. I wanted to help out on a farm if I could. I just didn't know who or where to ask." he smiled sheepishly, "say … you shouldn't really be talking to strangers now … should you? I mean, you don't even know who I am." Xiao Zhan said as the boy pulled him along and he actually followed. He should follow his own advice, because for all he knew the boy was leading him to his doom.
"I can tell big brother is a nice person." he said without turning to look at Xiao Zhan. The words 'big brother' left a pang in his heart, but Xiao Zhan pushed that away. "I-is that so?" the boy nodded his head and this time he did look at Xiao Zhan. "If you were bad, you would've tried to scare me away or yell at me." That wasn't really proof at all, but Xiao Zhan just smiled and continued to follow along. They finally came to a stop at an old cottage like home with a wonderous field of veggies and fruit in the back. The many varieties made Xiao Zhan's eyes widen and he smiled in awe.
"Grandma! Grandpa! I brought someone to help us!" the boy exclaimed and an elderly couple walked out of the cottage to greet them. "Ming~ how many times did we tell you not to force others against their will?" the grandmother scolded but with love and she turned to face Xiao Zhan, "I am sorry, traveler. My grandson is still young and doesn't know any better."
"Oh, no." Xiao Zhan smiled and shook his hands at the apology, "I really did come to help. I am new to these parts so … I didn't know who to ask or if I should ask … then Ming approached me and offered me to help you all so," he opened his arms slightly as if producing himself, "here I am."
"well, you can just call me grandma Kwon and my husband grandpa Kwon. What should we call you?"
"Um, Xiao Zhan. My name is Xiao Zhan." he answered with a smile. It's been a long time since Xiao Zhan has been like this in front of any one. Being himself, the one that smiled a lot and wasn't afraid to show his emotions. 'Remember … you can't be that person anymore … you'll only get hurt in the end.' a voice in his head echoed in his head and it was right. He snapped back to where he was again when he felt a hand on his cheek.
"Are you okay, my dearie?" The grandmother asked as he calloused, yet gently hand caressed his pale cheek. Just that simple gesture caused a tear to escape from his eyes. Xiao Zhan cleared his throat and looked away, swiping the tear away with his sleeve and he nodded his head. "Y-yes, I-I'm okay." he said and turned back to them after a moment of calming himself. "So … um... where should I start?" Xiao Zhan asked and the grandmother gave him a gentle smile before they led him to the fields.
It didn't take much for Xiao Zhan to get familiar with how the little family did their gardening. How Grandma Kwon pulled out the little weeds while Grandpa Kwon plowed the fields and little Ming watered the plants. Rolling his sleeves up, Xiao Zhan grabbed the gardening hoe and started working on removing the weeds that were harder to pull out by hand. With whatever heavier and harder tasks, Xiao Zhan didn't hesitate to do them. It was the least he could do. Time passed by and through out the day, Ming or his grandparents would come over to Xiao Zhan and offer him a drink or water or a snack. They did take breaks often, with it being so hot it was a good thing. As the day started to end, grandpa Kwon approached him and pulled him to the side. Xiao Zhan wasn't sure what this was going to be about but the smile on the older man's face put Xiao Zhan at ease a bit. "I wanted to thank you for helping us today." he said and turned Xiao Zhan to the field of veggies. "Take your pick and you can have as many as you want."
"R-really?" Xiao Zhan smiled and looked at the man, "thank you." With that, they went to the vegetables that Xiao Zhan wanted and they harvested it. He chose three vegetables that he thought would be nice ingredients to cook with. Carrots, tomatoes and … eggplants. (^///^)
@〄 Oh Sehun ☘1 Being a familiar figure amongst the humans, Chanyeol finds it befitting if he is to introduce Sehun to the farmers that he has been helping for the past few months. Sure, someone could raise an issue since Sehun is different than the other shifters. Conspicuously, Sehun might seem like a threat towards the villagers, but he knows that Sehun can control his shift. Chanyeol has also been adding meat into both of their diets. Surely, his partner would never harm the humans that he has befriended, and Sehun is a sweet person right underneath those cold glass orbs. He's a bit shy, but Sehun makes up for it by being a good listener. What not to love about the big cat?
So, he arranges the short trip to the farms with both sides, wanting to make sure that they can at least get a few things done together. It might also be an excuse for Chanyeol to spend more time with Sehun before his inevitable departure to one of his latest quests. Early in the morning, in the wee hours, Chanyeol quietly leaves the warm bed and heads straight into the kitchen to prepare some sandwiches for the two. He would bring them out once they take a break from seeding in the field.
Chanyeol is used to the tasks in the fields, after visiting them from time to time to help out with their work. So, it is easy for him to finish the seeding alongside the other farmers. With his sleeves rolled up, he stretches his muscle, standing straight once he has placed the last seed into the mixture. He stays behind for Sehun, watching the other's back while he continues to work in the field. With a small smile, Chanyeol walks over to Sehun's side, looking at the other with a little sense of adoration. "Nice profile you have there."
@❧ Min Yoongi Sungkyu eyebrows rose higher at each words that left from the man mouth. It's ridiculous and he almost didn't believe it if not for a small nagging feeling on the back of his mind to just trust the guardian words.
He sighed softly and put down his hand before rummaging around the pouch on his hips.
"Here. Take this. It can heal your wound and recharge your stamina." He said as he offered the man a herb vial.
"Take it. It's herbs, not poison." He said again as he push the vial into the man hands.
He looks around as he feels the guardian let out his magic again. He sniffed the air then smiling.
Standing up, he looks at the man and offer his hand. "Come on. I know a place we can hide."
