The lord and lady have heard your pleas. They've given you another chance to redeem yourself: to enter into a realm they called purgatory. The lady tells you, "You are to live amongst many others like yourselves in a town called 'The Middle'. You shall live like you once have - and when you are finally ready, we shall accompany you into the afterlife." The lord gives you his hand; are you ready for your next life?

Middleground is a reincarnation based AU roleplay set in a fictional realm called "purgatory". Your character will be the reincarnation of a figure from history, given that said figure is not/has not:
1. Died within the last seven years.
2. Died by committing suicide.
3. A religious figure.
4. Fictional.

Middleground offers a second chance at life - to redeem past mistakes and continue unfulfilled missions. Your character will adopt a new persona and start at level one, and through completing missions and gaining points, will continue to level up and receive corresponding perks. Once your character surpasses level five, the last level, you are given the opportunity to either enter into the afterlife, or stay in The Middle as a guide for new souls.
