if you're going to suddenly decide to leave your ooc profile, deactivate or delete, please try let those who you feel would care and are close to know that. i understand this is not always possible, but if it is - do it? at the very base, letting a roleplay partner be aware of your disappearance is general roleplay etiquette i think a lot of people seem to forget - communication people.
and if you decide to come back and didn't tell them before, maybe try it now?
it really hurts when you see someone who up and disappeared on you suddenly, just kicking it about elsewhere, more so when they didn't bother even changing their username.
i know this site has its problems, but people remember you, some people even care, maybe more than you know and it hurts when you don't treat them with even a sliver of the same decency and respect you've been shown. i don't want to go on meeting new people and having to worry that they're going to do the same things others have done before them, being guarded like that all the time, while somewhat necessary, is exhausting in an environment that should be essetially relieving and entertainig.
think before you act, especially in a place where your actions have a knock-on effect to those around you.
