Okay so some context: I recently joined another tumblr rp that's much more welcoming and positive than the previous one I got kicked out of (go back and read my blog post titled Tumblr roleplaying horror story for the tea on that disaster). This rp is a game of thrones rp and I ing love Game of Thrones. In this tumblr rp I play an oc named Layna and she's a queen of the Iron Islands and she's a rebellious, caring but overall unhinged Queen of House Greyjoy. So the roleplay's first event is a banquet in one of the kingdoms (the Northern kingdom, Winterfell where house Stark is) and in this rp universe the Starks and Greyjoys don't like each other very much. (The Stark family are honorable righteous people who expect everyone around them to be the same which isn't great, and the Greyjoy family are pretty much like vikings or pirates who steal from people who already have barely anything). So this person I'm roleplaying with replies to one of my starters (shout out to everyone in the tumblr rp, you guys are giving me my rp mojo back, you guys are awesome) and her character is a Stark princess and she ends up asking Layna if she cares about what others think of her (since Layna is acting wild during this banquet since she gives zero s about etiquette and she hates the Starks anyways.)
(If you are not familiar with Game of Thrones) Please note: ironborn is the fictional people/culture that inhabits the Iron Islands that my character Layna rules alongside her husband, and when Layna refers to the Starks as wolves that's a reference to the Stark's House sigil which is a wolf. Westeros is the country that everything takes place in so its the main setting of the whole rp and story itself, the Iron Islands are off the coast of Westeros.
And this ladies, gentlemen and others is my character Layna's response to the princess:
Layna initially frowned at the sight of the Stark princess and hearing her words, never taking her eyes off of her as she spoke. She absentmindedly ran her spoon through her food as she listened to the princess.
Then the Queen grinned, leaned back in her seat, put her spoon down and let out a roaring laugh. "Oh little wolf... The mainlanders of Westeros already think ill of me and my people. They see us as savages, we raid and kill for a living remember!? Why should I care what others think? The other houses love playing their games with each other and making each other worry about what the other thinks..." Layna paused before sipping her ale and leaning in close to the princess.
"The other houses spend too much time keeping up appearances and worrying about what everyone else thinks. Let me tell you something princess..." Layna gazed at her, her gaze almost unsettling to some who looked in her direction.
"Worrying will never get you anywhere in life. Worrying will get you killed one way or another, especially when it comes to what others think of you. We ironborn don't give a what the rest of Westeros thinks of us... that's why we've been around for so long." She said in a slightly low but serious tone of voice, not caring that she casually cursed.
"Now... tell me this princess, why do you Starks care so much about what others think of you?" Layna asked, her narrowed eyes full of pure intrigue as she gazed at her, waiting on an answer to her question that hung in the air.
