house of cards is a friends-only roleplay, but we are still semi-open to the public. this means if you are not friends with any of the admins, you are more than welcome to friend request the roleplay's account 'jokers' to join the rp. the reason we decided to take this route is to avoid allowing toxic users into the rp. if you're not a toxic user then you have no reason to worry about sending a friend request. if you send one, you will be accepted within 24 hours. we have the right to decline any request with valid reason. so this is how we work:

we have two RPs in total
a public rp that includes the taken faceclaim directory (phonebook), all of the rp's necessary information, and other things to know what the rp is about. the masterlist also includes all of the profiles of the rp's characters for people to learn about what type of characters exist in the rp. 
 

and a friends-only rp where the actual roleplaying takes place. 

to join, a user must first send a friend request to the roleplay's account 'jokers'. once they have access to the friends-only roleplay, they have two options:
1. comment to reserve a character on the friends-only roleplay if they already have a character idea they 100% want
2. comment to join the public roleplay where they can come brainstorm with the admin team and current rp residents and get their help in coming up with a character idea. they can then reserve on the friends-only rp after making a final decision. 

if you are not friends with any of the admins nor have crossed paths with them, you are more than welcome to have someone currently within the rp vouch for you. something as small as "oh yes i've met this rper before and can say that they are a nice person" will work for us. after the vouch is made, you will be accepted. 

house of cards also works on a scheduled acceptance process. what does this mean? applications to the private rp are only accepted on mondays, wednesdays, and saturdays of each week. applications to join the public rp will be accepted on a rolling basis everyday. 

the structure may seem complicated, but it is a system the admin team has created to ensure a fun rping environment for us and the community. if you would like to join, we would love to see you there, and if you have any questions, please feel free to shoot a pm to the jokers account! if not, happy almost new years!
